Figured I'd start a new thread with this since the other ones are for the Furman game.

I could be wrong but I don't think any UConn player who has been questionable this season has played. Still crossing my fingers that they both can play. And are effective.

Trying to steer the injury talk away from the Furman thread. I posted this thread yesterday but it just showed up this morning. Not sure what happened. Any other news today?

No surprise but questionable on the availability report as Hurley said.

Bilodeau for UCLA also.

A new availability report will be released later today. We'll see if anything changes.

I'd love to see Silas get some playing time, but only if he can be effective. UCLA will test him on the defensive end for sure.

Malachi played well against Furman. I think ppl remember him with the ball with four seconds on the clock over and over as a lasting negative memory (which was the offenses fault). He had 7 assists, only one TO, and played solid D. He more than did his job. Need some of our “scorers” to step up and do theirs.

The will he or won’t he play gamesmanship is certainly providing a nice distraction from remembering how he got injured in the first place.
By a 250 pound person falling on his ankle? If you’re implying he’s still injured because he went back into that game, that’s total guesswork and also hinges on the trainers making a completely incorrect assessment of his health at the time of the injury

That's the most frustrating part of this whole thing. We are without Demary all because he was smacked across the head (should have been reviewed for Flagrant), then stepped on by the golden St Johns boy on a layup. Not only was it not called a common foul, not reviewed for a flagrant, but it was hailed by the announcers as a great defensive play. Maddening!

I still don’t understand how last week during the selection show, Everything seemed fine and he was walking into the room to watch it and now all of a sudden he might not play in the second round game - crazy how things turned. Can Mullins and Solo just shoot mediocre tonight? Can you guys go like 3 for 9 each ? something? Just don’t go 1 for 17. All u gotta do is not that. lol

If we lose with Demary on the bench, it's just going to be chalked up to "one of those years". Will have been a very weird ride, given the early OOC success and endorphins of the team being given the BE season to get healthy and season up Mullins & Demary. I recall at that point, it felt like a great situation. Since then, it's gone in a very unusual direction. I'm already hedging so that I'm surprised if they come out and win a couple of these games. Easier to absorb. Then, I'll really be gearing up for Hurley's activity in the portal because I am really hoping he makes some wholesale adjustments with his roster building.

Yes. I think there is a perception that all 5 guys need to be able to score. If 3 of the 5 on the floor can score (ball, ak, bray, reed) then Ross/malachi will pay dividends if they do what they do best, with only minimal scoring, which is defend, facilitate, and be on every loose ball.

The only odd man out here is Reibe. I'm not sure what to expect from his minutes today. I'm not even sure what his job is anymore.
