Much better for us than him heading to the likes of Monte Verde or Oak Hill. Brewster is going to be loaded next year.

Seems like a smart move for him. He has the body, defense, and slashing ability. He needs this year to get that jumper.

Hurley and Jason Smith have a good relationship, starting with Jared Terrell’s recruitment.
It's fun to read these sort of things after how poorly things had gotten locally. Let's gooooo!

I hope he gets the jumper figured out because he’s strong, he rebounds like a maniac and he plays really hard. He’s tough.

Based on that article that was posted earlier, Hurley has told him as much about improving his offensive game.

So can someone explain what the difference is between Putnam and Brewster? Aren’t they similar basketball focused academies?

Brewster has better facilities and coaches. More history putting guys into high majors

Are they in the same league? I know Putnam had a national championship of sorts 2 years back but are they in a lower tier than Brewster?

Brewster is legit prep school. They are also very good at lax. To my understanding, Putnam is essentially a basketball factory with less than 100 kids in the school.

He seems like a great kid and understands the work he needs to put in to become a really good player. If he does and make himself a solid shooter I'd be happy to see him here. But no matter how tough he is if he can't shoot then we need to move on I'm afraid.

Really wasn’t a good fit for us.

whys that? if he'd happened to commit here instead i think a lot of folks would be breathing a sigh of relief right now

I think people just don't like non shooters anymore. I love shooters and always advocate for letting more 3's fly but I think we have lost some understanding that it is possible for guys to improve their outside shooting and a good coach can find lineups for quality non-shooters anyway, especially when they are athletic, can defend and have some good intangibles like Langford.

I'm praying we get Jackson who is a non-shooter and I don't care. He brings so much else to the table.
