Well- its here! The first full week of college football.

If you were to make investments this week, who would you pick? My selections:

Thursday:

Ohio State @ Indiana +21
New Mexico State @ Arizona State -23
Florida International @ UCF -16.5
Tulsa @ Oklahoma State OVER 71.5 points

Friday:

Washington @ Rutgers OVER 52.5 points
Navy -10
@ FAU
Charlotte +14 @ Eastern Michigan

Saturday:

Arkansas State +17
@ Nebraska
Wyoming +11 @ Iowa
Louisville @ Purdue (Indianapolis, IN) OVER 68 points
UTEP @ Oklahoma OVER 62 points
Temple +17.5
@ Notre Dame
Maryland +18 @Texas
Vanderbilt @ MTSU +3.5
Troy @ Boise State UNDER 62.5 points

I'm really liking Tulsa +18 and Michigan -3.5. UTEP +43 against Oklahoma is intriguing as well.

Not sure I see Tulsa hanging around with a top 10 team w/in 18.

I'm going to take Wyoming +11.5 @ Iowa, UNC -11 vs. Cal, Michigan -3.5 vs. Florida, WV +4 @ VA Tech. Torn on Colorado/CSU game. Tempted to take CSU

Tulsa is going to win on the field

Hey Drew,
You like Arkansas State +17 @ Nebraska?
You really think a Diaco led D will allow Ark St. that many points? (insert smile here).

Michigan loses a lot more than Florida. I think Harbaugh gets the hype but McElwain wins the game.

I was with you on Florida originally - but suspending 7 players including their best WR changed me over to Michigan.

But I believe Calloway is the only suspended player who had significant experience?

I still think Michigan is very young...and I think Florida will be ready. The interesting part is who will be QB for the Gators? McElwain is playing games on this. I think he wants to start the RS frosh Franks, but he is worried about his first start being at a neutral site against a Don Brown defense. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts Del Rio and switches to Franks after the game settles in...or if Del Rio struggles. Or he could throw a curveball in put in the ND transfer Zaire. Who knows.

Either way...I probably wouldn't bet this game...too many unknowns. But if I had to pick one, I would pick the Gators....especially at +3.5.

Memphis -26
Washington -27
Wyoming +11.5
Troy +11

I am surprised at the Washington pick. Going cross country is usually tough on the road pic. You think RU is that bad...U Dub that good....or both?

I don't think the travel is an issue week 1 with plenty of time to get East and acclimate. It's a night game so it's not like UW won't be awake.

Ash strikes me as completely inept. His teams roll over and play dead when things go south. They have almost zero HFA.

Washington has a top coach and big goals. They have every incentive to run up the score.

I think they cover more than 53% of the time.

There are two things I really try not to do with respect to numbers. I follow this more religiously in the NFL but I'd prefer to never again: Lay 2.5 or take 3.5.

I guess even though we know the truth about RU, it will still look good for UW to crush a B1G team on the road by 4 tds.

I hope you are right, but I still think RU will cover.

Hey when you are right 51% of the time... you are wrong 49%.

Florida just suspended 2 more players including their RB. So leading receiver and rusher out for the game. Yikes.

Yeah. That hurts. Not sure what to make of this game now. I loved UF going on, but you have to worry about these distractions.

I'm seeing UConn as a 23 pt favorite. That feels about right to me. I generally stay away from betting on my own teams and that won't change tonight.

Wyoming +12 @ Iowa
Louisville @ Purdue OVER 68.5
Nevada +24.5 @ Northwestern
Illinois -6.5 vs Ball St
Temple +18.5 @ Notre Dame
Michigan -5 vs UF
MTSU +3.5 vs Vanderbilt
Troy +10 @ Boise State

Here is what I actually bet today:
USM +10'
Howard +45
Miami -51
Jax State +65
Marshall under 47'
Stony Brook +36
SE Mizz St +21'
Texas St -23'
Iowa under 53
Cal over 57
Kent +39
Ball St +6
AFA -27'
UVA -20'
Portland +28
Youngstown +14'

Like whaler11 and Drew, I also like Wyoming +12. Craig Bohl is turing that program around -- he would have been a great fit in Storrs.

Wyoming played so bad today it was painful. Just disgustingly bad.

Yeah. That sucked. I was listening to the stream waiting for them to do SOMETHING, but once Iowa got that third TD, it was pretty clearly hopeless.

FWIW - Howard catching 45 up 9 in the 4q.

10-6 and would have been 11-5 if SEMO didn't lose the cover by missing their last PAT.

.-.
Portland would have beat Oregon State if they could kick their PATs. They missed first two and stopped trying.

Tonight we've got:

Texas A&M @ UCLA (-5)

WVU @ Va Tech (-4.5)

I'm not touching that UCLA game, but I'm thinking WVU +4.5 or moneyline.

If you're really a degenerate, this afternoon you can get:

SC State (-2) @ Southern (O/U 47)
