So besides the obvious great job, who is jumping out? We talked a lot about Mitchell last year, who has next level potential on our squad this year?

Honestly, I can't find a week spot right now. The team defense has been incredible.

All the LBs look pretty good. They close on ball carriers quickly and have done well pass rushing.

The secondary is somewhat suspect. The last two QBs we faced were pretty poor. Makes them hard to judge.

There were a couple of times the secondary got burned where if the passes were completed would have been touchdowns for Buffalo.

Can’t wait to hear an in depth interview with Brock when the smoke clears post season. What his overall goals and philosophy for his defense. What does he look for in a lb, a d back etc. Heard some snippets, stay aggressive and attack most notably

Realistically I hope Brock is in the process of also training his (future) successor. If the UConn defense continues to play as well as it has, plus his prior P2 connections, he's likely to have options which will represent a significant increase in salary (even as a P2 position coach) and have a decision to make. Hopefully UConn can retain the knowledge and maintain the consistency of system, regardless of who is at the helm.

UConn has not yet shut down a really strong passing attack. That is the primary concern. I liked the pass rush in the second half against Buffalo. It looked like they were perfecting it for an opponent against which they will really need it.

Enjoy the day, be in the moment, smell the flowers, worry about tomorrow tomorrow, today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday and on and on. Athletic life changes fast, you may be right, but today is all we have!!!

Having D linemen fake rush and fall back into Zone coverage is NFL level stuff
It's called the Zone Blitz. You rush a LB and drop a defensive lineman into coverage. It gave Eli Manning fits his rookie year.
