Does anyone one have any suggestion for keeping deer and rabbits out of vegetable gardens, short of a fence?

When I was at an garden store last spring, when a customer said she had tried all the usual specific repellent products and suggested spreading Miloganite, which worked just great. It is typically used for lawns and is made from a sewer system (ugh) in Wisconsin.

Now comes the "unfortunately however", it has been banned in CT because it contains PFAS.

Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks.

This is what we use. You can get it at Tractor supply stores.

I just print out some of @RuffRuff's Michigan posts and tape them to a stick in the garden. So far it seems to be working well.

Thx for recommendation.

There was an article in the Courant today by the Uconn Home Garden Extension office with a phone number and were quite receptive and informative.

They recommended Bobbex for deer, which they suggested be put on the perimeter. It lasts for 2-3 weeks.
