Very nice FT shooting!

Part of what may appear to be doubling up on PG prospects is that Paige and Nika are the same year. Yes Paige could easily stay another year, but 2 PG's will be needed soon. I am also assuming that Ines was more an emergency need for this year and that Geno would be trying to upgrade her with a better backup behind KK.

I think KK makes getting another top ranked PG in 24 pretty unlikely. Other names further down the recruiting list have been mentioned as possibilities over the next couple of years, Fisher, Imari Berry, Heckel etc. On the surface those names seem to be ranked lower than Uconn usually goes after, but for a backup point guard spot it makes sense.

Because of a couple more years of Azzi, Ashlynn in 23, and Ziebel in 24, there is also little opportunity for a new PG recruit to get playing time at the 2, so that is a disadvantage recruiting for that position right now. I presume we try for Cambridge, and she might be the only recruit that would be a threat to KK's time, but realistically I think pursuing a probable backup in the next two recruiting classes is far more likely and might be a good strategy.
I like the word "electric" to discribe the current guard recruits. Can't imagine that better future and potential class(es) exist. If I was a big looking at a program where I knew I would get great ball movement, passing, etc. that would maximaize my performance, I would look no further than UConn.

Kate Koval: 22 points, 20 rebounds, 4 blocks

Kaleigh Heckel: 27 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists

Justice Carlton ('24): 16 points
20 rebounds? I like it. Sounds like great effort and physical play.

Missed this blurb on Morgan Cheli a couple weeks ago. She apparently has an offer from UConn.

6-2 G/F Morgan Cheli was perhaps the biggest breakout star in the state last season for the CIF Northern Region Open Division champion, efficiently averaging 14.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. She's since become a 5-star prospect, USA National Team member, and recipient of over 40 D-1 offers including Stanford, South Carolina, and UConn.

2025 Darianna Alexander's game from Saturday. She had 26 points in about 11 minutes of playing time all in the first half. This was a mismatch to be kind, but you can see the potential oozing from her.

Alexander is #2 in white.

Why?
When I talk to DMV people about their players and the likelihood they'll come to UConn the answer I've always gotten is 0%. Granted, it's a small sample size but the 0 seemed pretty definitive

Ever is a mighty long time. As in forever evermore (n)ever. Seems to me like the DMV is just recently producing UConn type players. Time will tell if UConn ever gets one or two. There was a time when people said California kids wouldn’t to to UConn.

DMV, as DC, Maryland and Virginia--Like Azzi, Qadence, and Mir?
