Villanova season basically over with loss at home to Marquette. 7-7 now
It ain't over unless you mean they won't win the title. Marquette is good. They have a lot of wins and Q1 games left.

They need about a 14-3 run, but their schedule and current play is suggesting 10-7. Might not make NIT.

53rd in Ken Pom and somewhere in the 90s in the NET. 14-3 and I bet they'd still be on the bubble

Three BE teams will be ranked this week, but not seeing a fourth anytime soon. Didn't expect Nova to lose at home. Knew Marquette had a top 10 offense, but they held Nova to 22 in 2nd half, so their D seems to be improving.
Marquette, unlike other teams, seems to know how to play D in a way that makes Nova a little uncomfortable on offense. They don't allow Nova's players to methodically back down their defender to the basket by keeping a satellite defender to help. Most teams don't do this because they are afraid of giving up the open 3. However when the Nova player with the ball to passes it out to the perimeter Marquette's players are quick and fast with their rotations and recover quickly denying Nova's shooters uncontested looks. Marquette's players are athletic with long arms and they get a lot of deflections. They swept Nova last year as well.

Marquette gave up 1.06 points per possession to Villanova and we gave up 0.94.
