I haven't listened to the podcast, came up with the thread title from part of the Desctription.

So Dawn Staley wants to know why even though the NCAA Tournament isn’t happening, her team wasn’t considered (by some) the favorite to win it all.

So Dawn Staley wants to know why even though the NCAA Tournament isn’t happening, her team wasn’t considered (by some) the favorite to win it all.

Id tell her to go watch an Oregon game.


Why is she so bent up about wanting everyone else to believe her team was top dog? Her team finished #1 in the country and had an outstanding season. Go celebrate and honor that rather than being butthurt that not everyone feels the same. Fact is, her parading around trying to claim SC is the best team or even the honorary champion is going to prove absolutely nothing and makes her look quite insecure about the whole thing.

I don't even know how you can have a clear favorite in a season like this one - each of South Carolina, Oregon, and Baylor looked like very strong title contenders (perhaps Baylor slightly less so after its late conference season loss to ISU). This is not like the good ol' days of Stewie, Tuck, and Mo, where it was UConn vs. the World. If I had $100, I would not have put more than $25 on any one of those teams.
