Better chance of me eating a plate of collard greens then Staley being interviewed for that job. She's the Queen of Columbia right now........ as well as the coach of the defending NCAA champions... no need to leave.

That was just a "thing" put out by a Philadelphia sports writer. It was his "opinion" that they should interview her and he also knew it probably wouldn't happen. He actually mentioned several women's coaches that may be good NBA coaches. It's not going to happen with an interview...much less a job offer. Staley doesn't want to be their coach...end of story. The headlines are way misleading....

Wait, was there a tournament I missed? Or was that just meant to light a fire?

Of course she would take the interview. Much better chance that the Sixers turn her down than the opposite.

IF they were to ask, of course she takes the interview. I suspect Geno would as well.

I think she might conceivably get an interview. The Sixers and the NBA benefit by showing they nominally considered a woman for the job. Staley could use it to improve her bargaining position with the university Board of Trustees, if not for an immediate boost then perhaps the next time around, by dangling that she's a hot commodity.

Consummating the interview doesn't mean the Sixers would actually offer her or that Dawn would accept if offered.

She would probably accept the offer seeing how her current team and future recruits are void of D1 talent. It is a perfect time to leave.

Do not envy the next HC dealing with Headcases Embid and Simmons.

I don't know how I'll feel about a woman getting a head coaching job before Becky Hammon.

The defending No.1 team is as far as you can take that.....you went one step beyond....

Head coach? I hardly think so. Assistant coach? Sure. I mean there are several women who are, or have been, assistants in the NBA. But with all the current assistants who have a TON of NBA experience, you really think ANY NBA franchise would take a chance on a college head coach with NO NBA experience?

I'm not saying there eventually won't be a female NBA HC, but no way does that come from someone in the college ranks. Geno is the most qualified WCBB head coach by a mile and i doubt they'd pick him as a HC either. I think he talked in the past about being as assistant to one of the current greats (I forget which one. D'Antoni maybe?)

Simple solution: Trade both for a used coat and a bag of chips.

Wait till he finds out Lebron is not on the team. I see more medical leaves in his future

The entire article was about women basketball coaches who could coach in the NBA....not women's basketball coaches....it was a gender argument.
