Same here. I wrote Warde Manuel and told him so. Non-sports fans were even asking me, "Who is Towson?" Others, "UConn lost to who?" "Now you know why they chose us (RU) over you." Had nothing to say. Still haven't responded to half the guys in my country wide college football pool I went to school with. They've been relentless.

I have a good friend who told me I was on crack for thinking the team would be improved this year. I really hated to hear his "I told you so."

Then yeah, there was the dozens of other friends and family that knew how crushed I was... I received occasional sympathy mixed with shame from them.

I work with mostly women who don't follow football and I just started so I don't really talk to many people. Did start a nice convo with a dude who was wearing a polo with a block "C" on Thursday. We just gave each other sad looks on Friday.

Guys in the firehouse can be pretty relentless..especially when they are all college football fans..and you work with a guy who was defensive MVP his Sr yr at Towson. He was best of the bunch and just asked me how Towson looked.

Unfortunately, my flight was delayed twice and I didn't land at LaGuardia until 7:45 on Thursday. I was able to give my tickets to my brother so my nephews could bring friends. I'm a dck so my phone was on when we touched down and I immediately switched off airplane mode so I could see the score. Before I could logon to my ESPN app I got a text from someone in Arkansas I hadn't communicated with in 8 years. He wrote, "Towson, really?"

I drove home 65 minutes with the radio off and never logged on to ESPN3 when I got in.

I realized it must have been groundhog day, again.

Blah nothing, some of us many time zones ahead of CT didn't even get the chance to sleep on it and got blitzkrieg'd throughout our Asia Friday and long into the night - further bogarting a day off ...
