In addition to UConn, I occasionally follow local college b-ball teams in CT. Last year was watching Yale and watched this kid play. Not going to say he's Donovan Clingan but he had similar Clingan attributes. Being 7-0 feet tall, 250 pounds, could move well, pass well, rim protect. Had some characteristics I liked and with Donovan leaving thought Hurley would for sure take a look at this kid as a possible replacement especially being so local going to school in CT. Obviously he didn't and this kid ended up at Michigan. I watched him last night dominate some of that game against Wisconsin and remember him from his time when he was at Yale. Anyone know if Hurley ever looked at this kid?

I'm aware, I'm wondering if BEFORE he chose to transfer to Michigan if Hurley looked at him at all? Or was he someone not on Hurleys radar?
I remember the BY talking about him knowing we would be in the market for a transfer center, but I think he plays for Michigan now.

May on to something using him as a 5b with Goldin bringing back the twin towers concept. As a primary 5 I could see him less effective at the high major. He must have had this planned in advance otherwise unlikely to have gotten both in the portal.

We looked at him. The interest wasn't mutual.

Danny Wolf entered the transfer portal, but he put himself on the "no contact list". All in all, what this means is he already had his mind made up to go to Michigan and that was most likely because he and Dusty May already spoke about his role on the team and how he would be utilized.

Fear not UConn fans, next year, they will have the same thing with Tarris Reed Jr and Eric Riebe.

IIRC. Because he is from Glencoe Ill and Michigan had shown early interest -He made it fairly clear his interest was in returning to the Mid- West to finish his CBB career. Tarris Reed was entering the portal and Samson was returning and Singare on the bench. Dan knows the HC at Yale pretty well. It was my understanding from articles that were circulating at the time that there were discussions that didn't go far-Mutually agreed upon.

he went into the portal with a do not contact tag, he already knew where he was going. He's from Illinois, not like he's a local kid just cuz he went to school in CT.

Timing is everything. This wasn’t gonna go well on game day, at 3pm. Especially when we’re in struggle mode. This would’ve been ok, in April. I have an opinion on it, in April.
