i have read on this board at least 1000 times that high school rankings are BS. now you are going to use them to make the point you want to make. as a for instance, the su basketball staff uncovered mike williams, who is now excelling as an nfl wide receiver. does our football staff get credit for developing the guy, or was he a pro regardless of where he went?
Saying nothing about the Calhoun developing players debate, this is such an unbelievably bad argument I don't even know where to begin.

I think it is Mrs. Fine's magical vagina that gives Syracuse athletes their extraordinary athletic powers.

Besides the fact your a Troll who is also a Dickwad:

It can't be proven Calhoun is the best at developing players. It comes down to either he's the best at assessing talent or the best at developing players or the best at the combination of the two. I imagine it's the third one. He is great at finding talent and he is also very good at developing it and getting the most out of that talent.

i think the question i was trying to ask was, if you recruit a guy with pro talent that goes pro...was the guy a pro regardless of where he went or was he a pro because of the college he went to. for instance, carmelo probably could have played at UMBC and still been an NBA player. i wasn't exactly trying to be insulting or provocative in this thread.

Posting anywhere on this site under the name "orangehomer" is provocative.

I'd be happily stunned if more than half of that group is back next year.

If I'm understanding correctly that the only one who would be able to transfer without sitting out a year is AO, I'm not sure why any of the other guys would want to leave.

orangehomer I'm guessing the best question would be what is "pro potential"?? I mean not every Top 50 kid has pro potential and especially not every Top 100. Does he have the tools to work with ? Yes....but will he listen and will he do the work on his own to make this a viable dream?

Calhouns real good....one of the best no doubt at getting more out of players who are either on the line or not close. The George's, Knights, Voskhuls, Ollies, DonMarshalls, Okafors, Thabeets, Boones, Armstrongs are amongst the many who came from nowhere to at least get a sniff of the pro scene....from there it was up to them. Can't even think of the others and many on the European league who made millions despite hardly playing at UConn, only seeing few minutes or none!

Not sure he's the best but he's proven to be in that argument no doubt.

It's a gut feeling. I don't think it was a very happy place this year.

in what way, shape, or form do you think you would be able to prove this assertion?

Recruiting rank measured against NBA draft status.

No other coach has taken the likes of Travis Knight, Jake Voskhul, Hilton Armstrong, Josh Boone, Hasheem Thabeet, etc., and helped them improve to the point where they became NBA draft choices. It's demonstrable.
