@GoodmanESPN: Miami Heat will host a draft workout on Tuesday that will include PJ Hairston, Cleanthony Early and DeAndre Daniels, source told ESPN.

You've gotta think the Heat love his ability to hit the deep ball with his size.

@GoodmanESPN: Boston will host Kyle Anderson and DeAndre Daniels for a workout on June 3, source told ESPN.

Hairston is such a wild card to me. He's looked exceptional at times in the D-League which most would argue is a more NBA style game. Is there a team out there that looks past everything and grabs him in the late lottery/mid-first

I'd say late lottery-20s Is prob where he'll end up. Huge risk/reward potential in this guy. It's worth the risk imo if you need a scoring guard

I could see Daniels being a great fit for that Heat offense. Long combo forward who can stick the three and block a few shots? That's basically their ideal role player.

Harrison is an excellent long range shooter who doesn't play defense with a below ave. handle.

I wouldn't mind the Celts taking him at #17.

I agree but I also think the reward part gets some GM to jump and make him that guy people are surprised that goes like 14th

@GoodmanESPN: DeAndre Daniels has visits scheduled to Miami (Tues), Atlanta (Thurs), Charlotte (Fri.) this week, source told ESPN.

When DD plays Indiana or SAS who does he guard?

I hope he puts on 15- 20 pounds this summer without losing his agility and hops.

George and Leonard - assuming he's going up against first units. Tall order, yes - but at least neither is a post up player. Against second units, he might have to deal with someone smaller like Evan Turner (or R. Butler) for Indiana or Belinelli, or perhaps he'd have to deal with someone bigger like Scola or Diaw if his team went small. He'd have a hard time in the post against Scola or Diaw, but perhaps he'd give them a little trouble on the perimeter.

This all assumes he gets quality PT, so these are all good problems to have, if they come.

I love Deandre and predicted huge things for him last year but I'm still surprised the due diligence done by his parents, KO, JC etc conclusively led to him leaving for the draft and hiring an agent. I know we've speculated earlier that his age was probably a big factor but projections of him going late 1st or 2nd round would make me a little nervous if I was part of his camp.

An extra year with some more strength, improved confidence and being featured as the go to guy would have securely placed him in the top 10 next year IMO. For a guy who has had confidence issues, a non guaranteed rookie contract would be a real concern. I think he will get chosen in the 1st round but if it's still iffy it wasn't worth the risk IMO.

I believe KO told him to stay in school if I am not mistaken.
He and his family made the choice to leave- you never know they might just need the income and he did what was best for his family in the short run vs the long run. You have to remember a lot of these kids are going to be the bread earners and sometimes personal circumstances don't allow them to make optimal choices.

Considering he'll likely be in the 2nd unit for the near future tough to say really. I think his niche may have to be aspecial a stretch shooter. You can hide is defensive inabilities playing him in favorable match-ups. Kind of the way the Heat use Ray

Agree. It's real easy for us to say this and that from the outside looking in, being in that situation has to be crazy. I just hope he stays motivated and keeps growing. Good luck DD

Hiring an agent no longer has a baring on returning to school, unless Daniels declared on the flight home from Arlington. Daniels declared on the third to last day allowable by the NBA and well past the NCAA early entrant de-commit date.

I doubt anyone under 200 pounds play the 4 in the nba. Unless he plays for the Heat where they have no other big men already anyways so it's more out of necessity than that being his actual position like he was here. Deandre is a natural 3 who could be a benefactor of more spacing in the NBA. He must work on his handle to be able to stay in the league and get stronger of course. He will probably be regulated to a spot up shooter who doesn't create much of his own shots in the league though. Sadly he never got experience running off screens to much here because of the lack of bigs throughout his time here.
