Big in the Carolinas. There are over 200 of them believe it or not. They are now expanding in the Southeast. Cheap food...quirky sides (burger and quesadilla?)...good shakes.

I don't get the appeal, but they are very popular. Particularly near campuses.

I've had it in Raleigh near NC States campus... Back when I could actually go out drinking for a night. I feel like drinking is key to the Cook Out experience.

College kids like cheap. Cookout is just about half what Five Guys costs. But yes, FG is better.
