Dan Patrick and hurley

Good interview. Found it interesting that for the first time I can remember, Hurley admitted he may coach into his 60s/early 70s. Doesn't have a lot of hobbies outside of basketball. I know he has said he want to walk away young, but I think he is here for another 15-20 years.

We’ll have to see what the landscape looks like, what league are we in, are we “allowed” in the postseason or do we need to be in a P4 conference? Etc…

When he first said that I said just wait until he's 60. He'll think it's ridiculous to quit at that age when he's that age. I remember Bill Belichick saying he didn't want to be Marv Levy. Then he got close to Marv Levy's age when he retired, begged to coach again in the NFL, and then took the UNC job (not exactly at the top of the food chain) because he didn't want to be retired.

I can see getting out in your early 60s when you are a guy like McDermott who loves playing golf, and has a place in Arizona.

Some of these guys just live and breathe basketball. They will adjust to the landscape. Hurley is one of them. Izzo is one of them. Pitino is one of them.

I though Pitino was an undertaker

His dad coached late, no?

Dumb first question about the T. That narrative is getting old, plus he doesn’t get many. Do better DP!
