Hurley mentioned that most people go through travel issues so he didn’t come off as being entitled.
Sitting on the tarmac and watching a plane get deiced can be stressful for those with anxiety. It freaked my wife out who hates to fly when they deiced our plane twice in Baltimore a few years ago.

I thought Oats has come off as likeable and very respectful of our team. He did "One Shining Podcast", and during the interview stopped just short of saying "They might kill us", and a couple of times DID say "i wish their team wasn't so good".

I’ve always like oats. Hes a real good coach. I don’t like Bama for him. Would like to see him in a non sec job. At least he gets resources. Bama is just a weird hoops school.

I enjoyed listening to Oats as well in his press conference. The associations between the Hurleys and Oats are unreal as Nate met Bob while Rhode Island was recruiting a player from Romulus and now Nate plays against Dan close to Tempe where Bob is the coach.
I also got a kick out of Dan in his presser alluding to the fact that ASU is not giving Bob all the resources that he needs.

Couldn’t agree more - maybe one of the things that stood out most - my wife, without any knowledge of Goodman, asked why is that guy such a “jerk” for asking his question that way
I think it’s the fact he seems like a good person overall and a good coach but he seriously made a mess of that situation (or the AD did).

There are 4 people in this thread (me +3) who have complimented Oats. I, personally never "hated" him. I only know the part of the story that i heard in the news, and i have no idea how much of that is true, or what to make of it. I do know that he has been very complimentary of our team, and iirc he was last year too. I like that.
Don't worry, i'm sure a lot of people hate him for all kinds of reasons. He has kind of a raspy voice, i'm sure people hate that. His hair is imperfect, im sure some hate that. etc...

Can’t speak for everyone but I’ve loved Oats since he took my moribund Alma mater to the sweet 16 and he’s a REALLY good basketball coach.
Whatever the opinions about handling or mishandling last year, by all accounts he’s a good, genuine dude and a great basketball coach.
