I was expecting something much worse. Y’all needa relax.
He basically made a joke about having to play Hawkins early in the year so he wouldn’t transfer, but said he was crucial in the win over Auburn, and it was a massive hit to the team not having him all postseason. That small comment shouldn’t outweigh all the praise he heaped overall.
It’s also the reality now, and I appreciate his honesty there. The team must’ve known Hawkins was very gifted, but having all those quality veterans kept him out of the first 5. Having to balance the teams success and future success must be an incredibly difficult challenge in this new era of CBB, but Dan did a good job hanging onto the guys that matter.
