Anyone watch this morning?

Hurley described what makes the Huskies' culture special.

"It's just a great community. It's a real tight knit, you know, college community, the state obviously supports us. I mean, we're the state team, the Huskies are Connecticut's team, and it attracts really serious people," Hurley said. "No one gets kind of fooled into going to UConn. You don't get distracted by the beautiful weather."

Hey, at least in this case, this is actually something Robin Roberts has some expertise in.

they're still talking about turning the Lakers job down??
This PR is gold. Can't tell you how much value that action has created amongst non UConn fans I run into here in North Carolina. Came here nine years ago and it was all UConn women. Now it's UConn men and Hurley is the best mens bb college coach.

This from fans of UNC, Duke, NC State. Syracuse, LSU, Providence, Florida State, Georgia and several alum of small colleges and universities. None are happy about it. Think the way this forum felt about all the Duke hype. But I'm loving it!

It’s not just luster, it’s the better job. Ask JJ Reddick if he’d rather have had the Connecticut job in three years when he’s out of work after disagreeing with AD or LeBron or the next entitled superstar that saves LA. The power dynamic is wrong there. Like coaching the Jets this year.

All PR is good but it's special when you think of how it drowns out all the hype Kentucky has gotten over the years and the same with the Lakers and LeBron. My relatives in NC are almost apoplectic about how much they hear about UConn now.

Dan Hurley said the other day the staff is able to be in on players that wouldn't have listened to them a couple years ago.

Yeah, and I hope they continue to. Maybe even sprinkle in a little more of the turning down the UK job. Great press.
Agree, keep it going. It’s great press and it reassures me that he’s in it for the long-haul. After watching the Knicks last night I’m fully expecting a catastrophic season and “Hurley-to-NY” watch beginning in April.

Just a PERFECT COUPLE and the best darn ambassadors that UCONN could ever ask for. I'm overjoyed to have Dan and Andrea on Team UCONN.
If I had an elite level bball kid, I'd love to have Dan & Staff coach him. You can see and feel the genuine love and sincerity in their words and how seriously they take their jobs at UCONN molding young men and leaders.

"UConn, Lakers, UConn, Lakers, that's so hard..."

It still seems like a fantasy that they turned down the NBA to stay. Andrea's quote above means so much for the university

Wow, what a great commercial for the program and for Dan and Andrea personally.
It really is. So many people wake up to watch Good Morning America. Also, 6 months ago he was on the same show after UConn won back to back and Hurley was being interview by Michael Strahan.

It's interesting to see Michael Strahan's fame skyrocket * after * playing football. Many people that watch him will think, "oh, he used to play football, I didn't know that."
