One of the bigger screwups in UConn men's basketball was Chuck trying to drive to the hoop from the 3 point line at the HCC in the Big East Tourney and we were out in the quarters on Friday night.

If you were too much of a loyal fan and had the UConn men’s basketball team going to the National Championship in your bracket this year, you were disappointed just like me. I find it interesting that the team coming from the “Basketball Capital of the World” has not made a Final Four appearance...

I still have nightmares about that play. He gets the ball and looks up at the hoop and I'm thinking "He's gonna drive!" I get up yelling "No, Chuck, no!" But he doesn't listen, he going for the glory, he's gonna be a hero! Tweeet! Charge! What a total stiff. David Russell on the play.

Factual error is kind of ridiculous. Destroys the column.
But, the idea of the column I can (remotely) buy. Listen, columns are to create discussion and take a point of view. There was a decent column idea here, but it didn't deliver.
IF you are going to bring the fastball, you gotta be able to blow it by the hitter.
That is a provocative take that required more thought, facts and color. I like that he challenged a commonly held belief. But, sloppiness and incompleteness get you in trouble and he essentially is the crazy guy at the bar.
Good, tough experience for the kid. But if you gonna attack a strongly held belief, ya gotta be bulletproof.

It reads like it was written by an eighth grader for a school project.
