Why would you go by ESPN's ranking to determine who should make it? That's not the criteria the voting committee uses, and his 247 composite before the selections were made was #17 anyway.

Daniel Hamilton is #16 composite.

Can anyone confirm this... On 247's composite ranking page for DHam there's a timeline of events for him. The timeline shows his verbal to UConn in May, a few other events and then the final one is saying that he signed a LOI on 11/21/13. I'm still under the impression that he never signed a LOI. Can anyone verify this for me?

There's an actual voting committee that selects the players, it includes scouts like Meyer(247), Bossi(Rivals), and Burlinson(independent scout, former NBA scout) who all voted for him. I'm not saying rankings don't matter, because they obviously do and I referenced his composite ranking, but the criteria isn't just looking at a singular ranking service such as ESPN's and picking guys based off that, 1 through 24.

He signed scholarship papers, not an LOI.

I realize that is ESPN not the final arbiter, posted because it just came out this AM and he dropped 5 spots. I don't know how current the other rankings are, maybe a general feeling among the McD voters that Hamilton is just outside the top 24....who knows....don't think there is an anti-Uconn conspiracy though. I do know that I'm thrilled to have Hamilton.
