Fab provides a lot more than the 7 pts and 5 bounds. He is the anchor in the middle of the zone. He blocks and alters a lot of shots and is the stopper for zone penetration. Missing a single player can really change the chemistry of a team like Boatwright's absence has done to UCONN. Lets hope we get Boatwright back soon. Shabazz is a much better guard when he is not carrying the whole load.
Plus they didn't know he wouldn't travel till they go to the airport. AND, having him as the erasure in the back of that zone allows the guards to stretch out to shooters on the perimeter. He was a BIG loss for today's game.

And this is different from the Boatright situation how? I saw a lot of "Can't wait until UConn fans start the, 'Boatright's out excuse for this loss'" from Cuse fans. Might want to go tell your fans about that...just saying
Honestly, he was a big loss for them. It shows Cuse is not as deep upfront as stated and a big like Cooley can dominate against their backline minus Fab.
Not making excuses, just stating a fact. Watching Louisville/Pitt last night, you had to appreciate what a difference Kuric & Woodall made to those teams, & the role their injuries have played in their seasons.
Take Davis from UK, or Sullinger from OSU, & they'll have issues...just the nature of the beast.
BTW- I'm always amused by those who seek out the worst in every fanbase, & then reference them for major effect. We ALL have knuckleheads in our midst- no fanbase has a monopoly on idiots with a keyboard.
