They are running out of teams, now they are looking at Old Dominion. Uhg, that's scary.

Look at East Carolina in the chart, in 2011 their average attendance was 100% at 50k, not bad at all. I guess they really love their pirates.

If they were in so much trouble, all they'd have to do is absorb the Sun Belt Conference. Hard to believe Delaware said no.

I'd love to see ODU go to CUSA.

There's a ton of talent in the Hampton Roads area. Almost all of it goes to VT, UVA and UNC. If ODU can keep 4-5 of those kids home each year it erodes some of the depth those programs have, plus they'll have to spend some more time in the area recruiting the kids instead of just cherry picking them.

At least they don't have 2 or 3 non football playing catholic schools running the conference.

That and ABSOLUTELY no interest in running down the rabbit hole of CFB. They'd need to spend millions to upgrade facilities and increase schollies so they could what, play CUSA ball and get an invite to the New Orleans Bowl every few years? Not everyone is intent on entering the arms race the BCS started.

How are they running out of teams? Even without ODU, with last week's additions, they've got 13 members. And they easily could pluck off Sun Belt teams if they wanted.

Old Dominion President John R. Broderick said leaving the Colonial Athletic Association and joining Conference USA is a "game changer" for ODU. The president discussed the move during a press conference Thursday afternoon after the university announced earlier Thursday in a release that ODU was making the jump effective July 1, 2013.
