Hi all,

My most recent episode features an interview with Rep. Joe Verrengia. He's the chair of the committee responsible for passing legislation on sports betting. I think those who like to bet will enjoy what he has to say -- especially the part where he says there will be no restrictions on what you can bet on (outside of HS/minor league). Unlike in NJ/RI where you can't bet on college teams in-state, you'll be able to place some legal action on the Huskies in CT if all goes as planned.

Can someone summarize? What are the hold ups? When can we realistically expect that this becomes legal?

Hoping to have everything done by the end of the session (June). Then it's up to the outlets to get it up and running. Realistically, you can probably bet by start of NFL season.

And Whaler - from talking with him seems like they want to make it a bit more inclusive (letting OTB get in on it too). Also will have mobile -- so we'll see how that is run.

cool gifting it to the casinos would be a huge mistake.

CT will tax and regulate it to death and people will just continue to use their bookies. BOOK it.

I have a fairly new SB in nearby Hollywood Casino in Charlestown, WV. About an Hr drive from FFX VA. Not much of a book. Carved out of a slot area. A few tables to go over bet sheets and a counter with 4 bet takers. No lounge or TV's like the Vegas Sports Books. It's something at least. Is Mass doing SB's? MGM in Springfield?
