I wouldn't say it was expected, but they knew this was a pretty good possibility. You kind of saw the Missouri move and you thought the Big 12 was going to go somewhere. So they knew West Virginia would be a candidate there and probably if asked would go.''
"(The loss of West Virginia) might mean you have to find one more football school or you just go with 10,'' a source said.
Re: Mtn W/Conf USA "I think that was a proposal just put out there,'' a source said. "That didn't have any tread with the Big East. Whether it was somebody from one of those other conferences or some kind of independent sports company who put it out there ¦ but that did not have any treading.''
