Creighton post game thread

That performance is an all-timer. He absolutely willed the team to a win, with next to zero support and everything working against us. I was just hoping we didn't spoil it by choking it away. I want the next month to be Solo, AK, and Liam to all show up and we could really do some damage.
 
Well Epic game from McNeeley. Really just out the team on his back and carried them. Not a normal freshman so savvy. Diarra hurt. Ball obviously hurt too but did his best to get to the rim. AK shot is MIA but his D on Kalk and gutty effort was important.

Wow, I'm still in shock they won this one. McNeeley with the monster game. Everyone else pretty much was terrible. Good to know they can win when so many play a bad game. Nice win!

Literally…..we had ONE guy play above average. I mean he was stratospherically above average, but we got pretty much nothing from anyone else
 
I would never thought we win for the first time in UConn history at Creighton with a cold Ball, a cold Karaban, Diarra barely playing, our centers in foul trouble all game. Thank you Mr. McNeelely for single-handily saving us. I actually liked the small line up with Karaban at center. I wonder if we see it more as our Centers both can have trouble impacting the offense and nobody is guarding them outside of 5 feet. Also on defense we seem to play better at times without our 5s out there as more foot speed.
 
On the road against Creighton. Our Cs with a combined 2 points and both in foul trouble after 10 minutes. 4 total bench points. Karaban and Solo shoot 0-11 from three. Out-shot on FTs 30-15..We lost by 20, right?

Nope. Liam McNeeley just put in the best game I’ve ever seen a UConn player put in.

I’m still a little speechless. This guy is the clear best player on our team. We go as far as Liam carries us

I almost lost hope during the first half but remembered they win years ago against Pittsburgh when we were down by 20 points in the first half at half time but came back to win.

It did have that "of course here we go again in Omaha" thought in my head.

By the way UConn Nation, I apologize my wife and I didn't watch the game together on TV for the Gampel game earlier this year and the game in Omaha last year. When we watch, UConn wins against Creighton, we are 3-0.

Well if Reed is going to give us nothing and commit silly fouls, yeah, it has to become an option. Samson was okay tonight, but nothing outstanding.

AK's knocking the ball loose and diving for it (off them) with :50 left was big.

They should've won in 2023, but they blew so many easy fastbreaks that game and then of course Hawkins toe was on the 3 pt line for the would be tying shot to send it to OT.

Karaban didn't have a good offensive game and it almost killed us, but man did he step up big when he had to switch to the 5. That was winning basketball on defense.

I really hope he can get his groove back, because that's the only way we will be a real threat in March.
