In fairness to unfair critics our girl Ayanna Patterson can stand at the head of the key and jitter foot to foot with her head on a swivel. It's the rare freshman who fits right in to perhaps the most complex offense and defense in the sport. Perspective, critics need to find some.
I understand, and your point is fair. But the " freshman thing" also appears all too easily as an excuse. I guess what has spoiled me are the freshmen who never have that freshman thing...or certainly, they don't have it all year. And UCONN has had plenty of them. And there are plenty of freshmen around the country who are already stars for their teams. I guess what hurts the most, is we had two of said players ( Paige and Fudd ) and they both are always hurt. ICE was trending that way , from all reports.

I sometimes wonder if I am watching the same game as some. Replayed the Creighton game. Caroline played a solid basketball for nearly 3 quarters, constant motion, strong rebounding, great defense, and complimentary scoring. While she appearing gassed in the 4th Q when she missed several layups, not unusual for someone coming back from hip surgery playing most of the game.
You are giving Caroline more credit than me. I agree that she is ( potentially ) a great talent. But will she ever be healthy enough for us to see it?

Go back and watch videos of Gabby Williams' FRESHMAN season. At the end of it she was quoted as saying she "wished she had given the coaches more reason to play her. Most games she was out of position often, and her teammates had to grab her and push her into position. She made AA despite that initial season. And she wasn't the only one like that. Patterson is entering the "freshman wall" part of the season and will likely continue to flounder but she is smart, super athletic and is a very hard worker and she may be a much better player late in the season.

There were a lot of pre-season posters upset that Muhl was going to be the starting pg.
Not me, in any case.

Completely agree. They always get worse before they get better. You can see her thinking too much from my couch. I can only imagine what her deer caught in headlights face look like in person. You can also tell how she really wants to be good so I'm sure she will get "it" and it would be great if it happens by March.

The only way they are in the top three is if they have games where Aubrey goes 11-11 from the floor and Caroline is our leading three point shooter. It can happen, but is unlikely.
So, other than South Carolina and Stanford, what other teams would you rank ahead of UConn when they have all their available players and healthy?

I'm not worried about Patterson. She'll be fine.

You don't give up, do you. Another negative post. Not to you, but what you just said is more possible than not. Aubrey has already gone 11 for 11 and Caroline has scored 28 points in a game, so the possibility is there. When the season is over we all can look back and see who was the closest in predicting and gaging the performance of the Huskies. I'm sure you will be in the mix. GO HUSKIES!!!

Kinda like your Creighton prediction, “Let’s be real folks, if we only play six, and one of those six is not Aubrey or Azzi, we aren’t going to win.”
I guess you were right in one sense, Uconn didn’t just “win”, they absolutely blew Creighton right off their home court.
