Chocolate ice cream and potato chips (lays seem to be the best). Use the chip to scoop the ice cream on it like a dip. Or throw some chips in and crunch them up in the ice cream. Either way is yummy.
I've had a few people tell me it sounds gross until they tried it... heck it cant be worse then the pretzel ice cream they have now.

Have you ever tried these? Or chocolate covered pretzels? Yumm!!!

I don't consider this an odd combination at all, but I haven't run into anyone since I was a kid who like it ...

Warm apple pie and sliced or cubed cheddar cheese.

Must be a Canadian thing.

Knew someone who dunked his fries in maple syrup. I'll admit I found that odd. Not sure what he'd have made of my baked bean on white bread sandwiches had he known.

Another Quebec memory - Poutine. Fries, cheese curds, and gravy. There was a post here a year or so ago about fries. I think mau started the thread.

peanut butter on pancakes smothered with syrup.....mm mm good

Ummmm...yes please! My favorite combo was good ole mashed potatoes with macaroni and cheese and corn all thrown together ;)

I actually like it and I'm not Canadian. The VT building at the Big E used to sell it, I don't know if it still does.

As for me, on the very rare occasion when I eat a hot dog, according to some on this board (and a previous thread) I commit a crime by adding (drumroll...) Ketchup. As a kid I used to like chocolate sandwiches but wouldn't eat them now.

Much of New England would not consider serving a slice of apple pie without some cheddar cheese.

When I go to Boston Market I get turkey, with mashed potatoes and corn. I ask them to cut up the turkey, mix it all together in a bowl, and then add the gravy. Great combo.

Continuing the peanut butter trend .... peanut butter and sweet onion sandwich. Yum!!!

Years ago in Japan tuna fish donuts seemed to be popular. Never had the yen to try one.

Cold turkey (literally) sandwich on good bread with raspberry preserves. It's like turkey and cranberries, but sweeter. It's best with white meat.

Triad--find some garlic aioli for your fries.

Cat--I agree about feta and watermelon. I had that in Cancun with sprouts. It was tasty and refreshing.

No never heard of them, they look good though! Of course chocolate on almost anything sounds good to me :)
I'll have to see if I can find them around here...

Can't do the pretzels since they have yeast in them and I'm allergic to yeast :(

My wife had a parishioner who gave her chocolate covered pretzels every Christmas. They included white, milk, dark and extra dark ones.

I mix grass-fed beef with mustard and minced onion. Not so unusual...until you consider that I then eat it raw.

For some reason, I love a bowl of spaghetti washed down with a big glass of ice cold milk. Grosses my family out (maybe that's why I like it).

I fail to see how this is weird. Other than wine what else do you drink with pasta.

Went to the Big Burger Spot this evening, and got some Pesto Garlic Aioli Fries..... was thinking of getting the White Truffle fries, but remembered your suggestion. They were wonderful :)

Whenever i get french fries from a restaurant,.... i always have to get something besides ketchup to dip them in. My condiment of course is tartar sauce.... second choice is thousand island dressing. In a pinch I've been known to use ranch dressing or mayonaise... never that Miracle Whip stuff though.

Tahini...... Got some dinner tonight at my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant.... and got some falfel along with my meal.... had some tahini sauce left over.... so i figured I might as well dip a few french fries in it. :) Not really sure what all goes in Tahini... but its mighty tasty on french fries.

Another good combo i discovered over the weekend.... eat a Chocolate Mint Milano cookie followed by a handful of Regular Lay's Chips.... and repeat.... at least three times. :D

Count me as one who loves peanut butter, honey and banana sandwiches. Never tried it grilled, though. And as a kid, apple pie was served warm with cheese slices. Grew up in Connecticut, not Canada!

My best friend when we were in elementary school put ketchup on everything, including chocolate cake.

Strangest meal I ever had was while doing mission work in rural Malawi. The folks at the church where we doing our vision screening work served us cracker and cookie sandwiches for lunch. That was the choice - a sandwich of ritz like crackers or a sandwich of oreo-like cookies. Afterward, our translator told us that for the people of this poor village, this meal was a real sacrifice for them to pull off.

Ever since I was a kid, I have always put my french fries on my hamburgers. Now hearing Burger King is going to give you 4 on a burger.... so behind the times, potato chips on pizza, always a winner. Not odd to me, but a burger with hot dog (Coney) sauce and fries with some Manwich....Heavenly. But as a kid I used to eat raw hamburger...butter..ketchup...and raw chocolate chip cookie dough (only a half roll at a time)..so maybe my point of view is scewed....

We used to eat warm apple pie with a slice or two of cheddar for breakfast. Always thought it was a New England thing.

And a perfectly normal thing it is.
