Craig Carton kills Calhoun, won't have him on the show

FYI- this morning about 915AM on WFan radio, Craig Carton stated that ESPN offered to put Jim Calhoun in the studio with Craig and Boomer to discuss the tournament and Craig stated he hates Uconn and hates Jim Calhoun for what he's done.

We all know Craig is a Syracuse homer, but with the open ending statement, I am hoping the audience is educated enough and realize Craig is a fraud and should be taken off the air immediately.

What Calhoun did was win 3 NCAA championships and turned a program that was the laughing stock into a national power house.

For you to make Calhoun sound like he was a dirty coach that broke all the rules is really ludacris, you are a total idiot!!!!

WFAN do yourselves a favor and get this clown off the air already!!

Let me revise, since 1979 when we started in the big east we were at the bottom of the league until Jim Calhoun in the late 1980's came to Uconn and made Uconn a national powerhouse.

Uconn was very strong within their conference in the 1950's and 1960's.

To be fair, he's also said he won't bring up Syracuse on the show until Boeheim retires for what happened with Bernie Fine a few years ago. Calls Boeheim a disgrace for his part.

They were OK the first 3 years in the BE. Next 3 or 4 under Perno not so good. But they held their own initially.

Go back and look at UConn's early record in the Big East. They were a mediocre team, about .500 the first 3 years. They didn't start falling until the 6-10 record in 1983.

Someone booked Coach Calhoun to do Tournament analysis on the show and Carton stated that he's not gonna have Calhoun on the show without first devoting several minutes to discuss Calhouns so- called " dirt". Yes, we had a tough time in the conference with on only one winning season and one .500 season in the conference from 79/80 to 85/86.

Would it surprise you to know our overall record in that time period was 107 and 91. That's Big East pre-Calhoun.

Prior to that were were a power in our little conference and made the NCAA the year before we entered the BE.

Yes, our early years in the BE were difficult but it was only for a very short time. To call us a laughing stock makes you a laughing stock.

That show is garbage. All they talk about is Yoenis Cespedes and football for 12 months out of the year. At least Boomer follows hockey (an in season sport). I don't think either have even talked about college basketball this year.
