Beyond the Beat, a weekly CPTV Sports round-up featuring local sports reporters, will air on Tuesday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. This one-hour special edition recorded in New Orleans on Monday features host Joe Zone (WFSB), Jeff Jacobs (Hartford Courant), Mike DiMauro (The Day) and Richard Kent (sports writer).


Special guests include:

• Swin Cash offers perspectives on Sunday evening’s game, her years as a Husky, and her new book.
• Debbie Antonelli, renowned women’s basketball analyst, talks about Marc Cuban’s offer to Brittney Griner, point guards, offense and why she’s opposed to certain rule changes.
• Agnus Berenato, former Pittsburgh coach, shares what she sees as the keys to win the championship, talks about Geno (who she calls the best coach in America) and explains why Jeff Walz will try to work Geno during the game.
• Warde Manuel, UConn Athletic Director, weighs in on Geno, the Rutgers firing, and the Big East. He also shares a personal story about how Hurricane Katrina affected his family.
