"Shabazz Napier, 6-1, PG, UConn, Senior

In terms of straight getting buckets, there was no one better than Napier. He was shifty, drilled deep three-pointers, and was downright fearless on the court. He was able to create space on anyone who checked him, CP3 included. Posting legit numbers throughout his entire college career, it’s now time for Napier to continue to improve as a playmaker to sure up his NBA stock."

With improved durability I consider him top 3 pg in college.

Considering he was better than any point guard in the country last season not named Marcus Smart (who is really more of a combo guard), I think top 3 is an underestimate.

Shabazz is a ridiculously good player, and now that UConn will be tourney eligible and likely ranked all season, everyone might finally realize that.

The whole country is clueless to how good Shabazz is and despite his size I think he will have a long nba career, he has every skill you look for in a player.

Just from a fan's perspective, I think it would be amazing if Shabazz dunked it this year, just once, in a key game. I personally just think it would be awesome.

he was the 2nd best point last year and with that point now in the nba i consider him the best. maybe not the best pro prospect but the best pg yes

Kemballin'

I'd take 3rd any day coming from CP3, to even be talked about by him is great publicity for Napier and the college, just that alone will probably help his draft stock.

So who is our 'primary' pg this season?

Both Boat and Bazz have NBA aspirations at point, and I would presume at their height pg in the NBA is there best option. But Bazz only has one year left to make the AA team, which he is more than capable of, and Boat has options (declare/stay). Oh and Bazz is the better player right now.

Started from one of his patented 'reach-arounds' steals.

I'd probably go nuts if Bazz dunked... wonder if he can

Kinda like this?

YES

Kemba dunked earlier in the year though, if Shabazz did this in the AAC finals (against UL), I'd my pants because it would be his first dunk I've witnessed.

That play was awesome though. Seeing Kemba get that pumped after the dunk made me feel like I could run through a wall.

Siva always played well against us and Kemba sort of punched him in the mouth with that steal and jam and established himself over Siva. Kemba later also had 2 sick blow-bys on Siva... the dunk set the tone.

I expect them to share duties similar to our last tourney run. Boat will set up plays and often push in transition a lot; however I see Napier with the ball at the top in crunch time. I just hope we manage napiers minutes wisely, if his foot goes there's are ncaa run dreams.

oh and it's my personal opinion he's the best pg in college, I just wanted to leave some breathing room en lieu of a breakout year from someone. stats wise I predict: 19.0ppg/5rbs/7asst, 51%fg/42%3pt/85%ft. Lofty shooting numbers but he was already efficient last year. he's the best point guard in the aac. I'm actually confused how some people ignore villes loss of Siva and dieng.

I always assumed that the reason Kemba dunked that one (he normally just took the lay-up) was as payback of the 360 dunk Siva threw down against us the month before. It was the take that mindset from Kemba that got me pumped.

SN was hampered in the beginning of the season because he was still recovering from previous season's surgery.

SN was hampered for most of the season because he was still teaching all the young ones what to do on the court during most of the game as opposed to playing in the flow.

SN was hampered late in the season because of injuries.

With a full year of development under KO and SN's tutelage I expect SN and the team to shine this season and it will be a great story because most of the country isn't aware of what we all know about SN, KO and this team.

Yes this is a common joke around the board... someone dubbed him 'the reacharound bandit' (I dont remember who)

We just need him to stay healthy into the post season.
Scot-e. exactly what I was thinking as he seems to take more physical abuse than an NFL running back. If Bazz can stay fresh in March we are going to make some noise and his NBA prospects will be looking good. I really hope so as this guy is one of my all time favorite UConn players.
