Hey, maybe someone can tell me a good re-usable, washable mask to get. This Covid virus is serious & I want to get a few good quality masks for wife & I. I don’t think the masks with valves are an option- they release my breath into the air & masks are meant to keep others safe from you (and you safe from them if they wear a mask). Comfort, fit, effectiveness and washable are the main features I want.

I use neck gaiters. I wear them all day and at the end of the day throw them into the wash. I wear them jogging and biking when there are people too close for my comfort. I live in Florida so one exercise is all I get out of a gaiter. I actually feel naked without it now and my kids are razzing me about the color coordination. Look I wore a stupid necktie for 25 years in my corporate job why not a neck gaiter.

Fanatics has UConn masks I just ordered a 2 pack.

I just received these. The quality seems fine, but they’re a little small. I’ll probably only wear them for short periods of time. For reference, I’m about 6’1” or 6’2” and my head certainly isn’t smaller than average.

Fabric face masks, relatively inexpensive and comfortable:

SPF face mask from company that sells sun protective clothing, and is adjustable and fits well:

Everlane has has very comfortable unisex cotton masks. We have like 25 of them at home, gray, black and then some colors. On average, they go for like $5 apiece.

I like these because they are comfortable and easy to put on and take off, with no ear straps and only a velcro fastener at the neck. Some friends say they are too small for their faces, but they fit me fine and I have a pretty big noggin (7 3/4), neck (17), face and nose.

I ended up ordering 10 kn95 masks- I think they can be washed, they certainly can be reused. When breathing through them becomes noticeably more difficult, then it’s time for a new one. Cost was $70 including shipping.

Suggestion for reuse is to leave them in a noticeably sunny spot for at least 4 hours (and maybe rotating to make sure both sides get light for extended periods). Preferably rotating different masks by day or trip out of the house.

Also, dunk in disinfectant.

As long as you wear it over your mouth and your nose anything works.

Spent $20 and buy a box of 100 of those disposables.

pharmacies are selling them, and they're actually more comfortable than many of the alternatives.
