It is a great story and a testament to the power of people and networking. But it contains a shocking statistic: Connecticut ranks 48th in donor donation designation among the states. To me that is absolutely bewildering and highly unflattering to Connecticut's citizenry. Been gone a while now, but I seem to remember it was a piece of cake to stick that on your driver's license. Am I right?

Just having that sticker on your drivers license unfortunately means nothing!

Ultimately it's the family that you leave behind that makes the ultimate decision.

So if you want to be an organ donor make sure your family (husband, wife, children, significant other) is aware!

Exactly!
There's also a little card that is sent to you when the DL is up for renewal that needs to be signed, dated and witnessed by your next of kin. I keep mine with my driver's license in the event of a car accident.
