I liked her drive to the hoop I think it was during the ECU game a week ago. She also seems very steady. There are times where I wish she would take a shot, but perhaps she has taken the Geno mantra of you can do other things that are more valuable to the team than just shooting to heart.

Courtney helps balance the team... a team of Superstars/All-Americans is a recipe for disaster

Umm... I cannot agree with you there. Maybe they are the exceptions, but I still marvel over teams like The Fab Five, Kentucky for the last few years under Calipari, last year's Duke team, our beloved undefeated 2002 UConn women's team, the more talented 2001 team. No disasters among any of these teams.

not saying its always the case...

wonder if there was any transfers, catfights (Kentucky) in the locker rooms etc. during those times.

the Fab 5 had 5... maybe up 7 "all-Americans". I'm sure they had players "on the bench" to balance out the roster. BTW the Fab 5 didn't when anything (not a disaster but...)

Kentucky one championship 2012... even UConn men kicked their *** for a title (I saw that coming, Kentucky was too young)

I was talking about something like the original "Dream Team" of the Olympics 1 thru 12 (who may still had issues, Isaiah)... you're not going to find that in WCBB (Diamond and UNC tried, how did that work out)

Courtney helps keep the team balanced as does the "former" walk-ons, even Butler for now.

I am curious what people think of what they have seen of CE to date relative to what they expected when she announced her commitment to UConn. I seem to remember there was a lot of high praise for CE back then.

That she was a tremendous shooter but not very athletic. She hasn't been a tremendous shooter but the team doesn't need it . . . yet - may never need it at least for this year. We shall see next year. I didn't expect her to break into the lineup early in her career (frosh year) though like any non-all-american I thought it possible she could get minutes until she got hurt. When she committed we had KML and MoJeff, and Chong in the backcourt - and Gabby was an a/a guard. all these players were higher rated than her/ or older more experienced.

Then when we got Nurse and I saw a bit of her, heard Whelan rave about her when Canada played USA two years ago, and once CE got hurt, - she's behind another player. Going into next year I think a lot comes down to if Tuck stays. If Tuck goes, I think she can compete vs top tier teams. I don't see how anyone can disagree with that.

She can shoot. She can pass. As a sg she is physical enough. She is quicker than KML. She can play. The injury set her back big time. And the 2 other players she came up with found a niche / were/are better than her. She's on team that is on a historic run. It's not her fault in any way. However, I would like to see her go on a several game "tear" from 3 in which she hits several at an extremely high %. I haven't seen that. Overall though it's not as much as what she isn't doing as it is- when she joined this team, UCONN is "off-the-charts" overall "great."

Courtney is not as quick or athletic as I had hoped. In some ways, she reminds me of Maria Conlon or even a little of Mel Thomas. I think Geno was disappointed at her lack of progress from not playing her senior year, when she didn't play high school ball, but worked out and played against boys. Last year, she got behind the curve because of an injury. This year, she is getting some earlier playing time. I think she looks more fit and confident this year. At times, she still looks a little awkward, but works very hard. What we heard about her from high school was that she was a great shooter. That wasn't shown last year, when she shot .328/.270/.167 and averaged 1.9 ppg over 9.7 mpg in 28 games. She had 19 assists to 13 TOs and 6 steals. This year, her numbers are still modest, but better: .486/.360/.500 and 2.5 ppg over 10.4 mpg. She has 16 assists to 11 TOs and 5 steals. I think Courtney has the potential to shoot .500/.400/.800, make good decisions, and give us decent play in her minutes. By the time she is a senior, I think 5+ ppg is within reach. She'll be behind Moriah, Kia, Saniya, and then Crystal. Whether she is ahead of Molly remains to be seen.
