Did anyone see the 60 Minutes piece on Caitlin and the WNBA? She, Phee, and Aliyah Boston were interviewed. The pics of the pre-game fashion walk into the arena included Nika. She is definitely a fashionista.

I saw it. Unfortunately about 1/2 of the segment was about the person who shall go nameless on this board. I did enjoy seeing Nika. It was a good news story about the W.

So will Nika be picked in the WNBA " expansion draft " on December 6, 2024?
Teams can only "protect" 6 players and the Golden State Valkyries can only pick
one player from each team. Given that the Valkyries will be looking for
guards, forwards, and one (?) "post" player this could be very interesting.
If Nika is not in the first 12 picked from this draft, I think she has a great
chance to be invited to the training camp. What do the other Boneyarders
think?? The "protected" players won't be know until late November so..this
may be a ""much" too early thread.

I would think she will be unprotected in the expansion draft and could wind up a bew squad.

I LOVE Nika. But in a way she suffers from the Kelly Faris syndrome. Tenacious defender, top notch effort, athletic enough, has a decent 3 point shot, but just isn't really able to put the ball in the basket.

Until Nika is able to score on a consistent/regular basis, IMHO she will bounce around the W until she slowly fades away. Having said that, I can't think of any player who will work harder than Nika, especially on the deficiencies in her game as it translates to the WNBA.

Thanks, your post leads in to something I've been thinking. A star doesn't have to be one of the best, simply one of the more popular (All you have to do is look at pop-music stars to appreciate this). Nika is already somewhat popular, and she shows up in a lot of places. Yes, she'll need more playing time to get toward the top of name recognition, but I don't think she needs to be one of the top players to be a star.

Unpopular opinion as everyone wants to see her succeed as an athlete but maybe fashion, modeling, apparel is in her future. She’s smart, a natural born leader, already has a global network. She’s a billionaire business woman in the making.

I'm sure she could manage both in some form. Heck look at Tiffany Hayes soft launching a clothing line during the play-offs. The sky's the limit for Nika.
