After dealing with some illnesses/personal issues and taking some time to recover, I'm pretty much just getting back to business as usual. I've not been keeping up with the news or reading a whole lot on the BY the past couple of months. I know CV is coming back, but could someone provide me with a condensed version of what's developed since early April and where our roster and such now stand?

On a second note, I want to thank everyone for their kind words and encouragement in the thread my brother @Spokesbender created. It's been a very difficult time, but thanks to being blessed with having a lot of amazing people in my life to support me, it's been getting better.

Hurley made priority No. 1 to re-recruit everyone on the roster, making sure there were no transfers. And to that end he was 100% successful.

The two biggest priorities were Jalen – who I'm still surprised didn't at least test the waters for feedback – and Josh Carlton. I and others have heard through the grapevine that Carlton is almost certainly expected to be the starter next season despite having had one foot out the door when this past season ended. He's the one DH had to work hardest to re-recruit.

We mutually agreed to split with all three of the incoming commits (we'd have taken Akinjo had he wanted to come, but he was always a KO recruit; the other two we passed on). We replaced them with Brendan Adams, a big (6-foot-3ish) freshman PG (3-star recruit) and two postgrad transfers. Anecdotally – through whispers and "read between the lines" reporting – Hurley & Co. are/were appalled at the lack of strength and fitness amongst our guys. I suspect they've been getting their rear ends kicked for the past month, and that will continue.

Yes, it's weird Precious isn't on there. We're definitely recruiting him, and he would be our first unanimous five-star since Andre if we get him.

I'll admit I find it weird that we're not going all-out for a true PG in the 2019 class as of yet. To me this means that Hurley must be supremely confident of both Alterique's long-term health as well as Brendan's ability to develop into a true college PG. Also worth noting that he had a very egalitarian offense at URI with multiple ball-handlers, so the writing's probably on the wall in that regard (not a bad thing).

In all you missed a month of what felt like program stabilization. No huge news per se, but solid progress if you look at the pieces on the chess board.

I'll admit I find it weird that we're not going all-out for a true PG in the 2019 class as of yet. To me this means that Hurley must be supremely confident of both Alterique's long-term health as well as Brendan's ability to develop into a true college PG. Also worth noting that he had a very egalitarian offense at URI with multiple ball-handlers, so the writing's probably on the wall in that regard (not a bad thing).

In all you missed a month of what felt like program stabilization. No huge news per se, but solid progress if you look at the pieces on the chess board.

Yes, it's weird Precious isn't on there. We're definitely recruiting him, and he would be our first unanimous five-star since Andre if we get him.

I'll admit I find it weird that we're not going all-out for a true PG in the 2019 class as of yet. To me this means that Hurley must be supremely confident of both Alterique's long-term health as well as Brendan's ability to develop into a true college PG. Also worth noting that he had a very egalitarian offense at URI with multiple ball-handlers, so the writing's probably on the wall in that regard (not a bad thing).

In all you missed a month of what felt like program stabilization. No huge news per se, but solid progress if you look at the pieces on the chess board.

We mutually agreed to split with all three of the incoming commits (we'd have taken Akinjo had he wanted to come, but he was always a KO recruit; the other two we passed on). We replaced them with Brendan Adams, a big (6-foot-3ish) freshman PG (3-star recruit) and two postgrad transfers. One is Tarin Smith, a big combo guard who was the A-10 6th man of the year this past season, and one is Kassoum Yakwe, a one-time top-75 recruit who went to St. John's and stagnated.

Hurley specifically told Yakwe that he was recruiting him because we don't have enough rim protection. Yakwe is 6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan who can guard on the perimeter and in the paint, but doesn't do much on offense.
