I'm going to try to get this rotten taste out of my mouth and try to have a rational discussion. I'll start by saying I was very impressed last year with this kid Diggs. What a play-maker he is. I see now that they brought in a highly talented Juco who's off to a great start. Now personally I would put Mack in the slot because too me that's his best postion, so how can Uconn contain these stud Wr's? I think they would get burned going man, but would cover 2 work? I think their best pass defense would be the d-lines ability to stop the run and make Maryland one dimensional. Problem is who can cover these two? It looks like there's going to be alot of double teams and they have to get pressure on the qb to win this game. Ty Meer brown has to use his experience to help out Obi, time to step up. I have no idea who their tight end is but I figure anything over the middle Yawin will swallow them up.

Right and therein lies the problem. Randy Edsall somehow has found himself some playmakers (probably a result of being in an established ACC program and the proximity to the Maryland/DC/Virginia recruiting grounds.

Don't forget Locksley. Edsall wasn't doing so great until he was brought in.

Locksley was definitely a good hire for the DC market. That said, RE gets a lot of credit as he had to rebuild our brand with the local coaches. Unfortunately, Fridge alienated the local schools and simply was not well received. Schools like Gilman, Good Counsel, Dematha and FCA had routinely sent their kids to other programs and that has since changed. Yes, Locks is a key component but the one thing many noticed was RE's work ethic and desire to get out in the community, even when things looked bad and he was taking shots in the media. This year, RE held two open spring practices at local high schools (Dunbar in Baltimore and Middletown in Frederick) which have historically been markets for schools like WVU (ie Tavon Austin - Dunbar). Last week, high school football played 4-5 games at Byrd Stadium televised on ESPN (Gilman and Florida, Dematha and Florida, FCA and Florida). Finally, the local kids from Dematha and FCA are local and RE has really done a nice job of getting these kids on campus early and feeling like part of a bigger picture. Locks is the man, make no doubt but the foundation and vision is all on RE. Obviously, having UA does not hurt, thus stadium upgrades and gear for kids.

I didn't realize that O'Brien was back at QB for the Terps. He can play and with Diggs he's got a real talent. We don't get pressure on O'Brien it could get grotesque for UCONN.
