This is a collection of old historic Ice Hockey Photo's based in Connecticut from the 1800's.

The first passage I found is out of the 1854 edition of the Little Pilgrim where it mentions that "Shinney" was played on skates in Connecticut in 1848.
The Little Pilgrim

The second is a painting of a game of Lacrosse on skates in Connecticut from 1859.

The fifth image is of Boys Playing Hockey, ca. 1896. This souvenir paperweight shows boys playing hockey on the old Garden Street Reservoir in Hartford.
