I wonder if the Storm has to be quarantined for 14 days if they will have to forfeit the series. Would it be fair to the other teams to have to wait? I'm just wondering.

It’s a pandemic that doesn’t show up right away the league trying to be safe for both teams

The reason I’m curious about this is they didn’t postpone a previous game when a player had an inconclusive result on a COVID test.

So I’m thinking maybe they don’t want a playoff level game affected by a possible false-positive test. During the regular season they didn’t seem to care.

But if this or these players turn out to be confirmed positive, they should move on. They can’t wait a week or two for these players to be cleared. That’s my feeling anyway.

There's a kind of a conservation law. The test they're using is probably very sensitive, which means it's likely not very specific -- that is, it may be sensitive to closely related coronaviruses. So a borderline positive may not indicate SARS-CoV2. All of the inconclusive tests they've had so far have been negative.

They keep saying players (plural) have borderline tests. I think they don't want the Storm playing down two or three players. Also multiple inconclusive tests make it more likely that there really is a positive, and if someone on the Storm really is sick, they don't want them exposed to other teams' personnel.

The opener of the WNBA playoff series between the Seattle Storm and the Minnesota Lynx was postponed nearly 90 minutes before its scheduled tipoff Sunday because of inconclusive COVID-19 test results for Storm players.

The players with inconclusive results have undergone additional testing and are in isolation, according to the WNBA.

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert was at the hotel when she found out about the inconclusive results and boarded the Storm's bus to let them know.
