No mention of the game article on the first page of the sports section. The story is on page five (an improvement from last week's placement on page seven). The UConn article, sourced from AP, is the largest of three local college football stories that share the "above the fold" space on the page. Each article is about the same length; UConn's is more prominent because of the accompanying photo.

Turn to page six. There's a photo of Casey Cochrane that fills the entire above the fold area to accompany an article on concussions. (Can only include one photo per post, so you'll have to imagine it.)

I'm beyond tired of UConn sports being an also-ran in the Connectict Post. Too many fans in the area need to use other media sources for their UConn info. When will they--the paper and UConn's media relations crew--ever change this? No response from the Post so far, despite emails every season.

The industry is dead and they can't afford to cover them. They can't pay the salary and they can't afford the travel.

The Courant has buy-out offers on the table for all non-Union employees. If enough don't accept there will be major layoffs. Hopefully most of their coverage survives.

CT Post gives more to HS football, they actually suck! I am in CT ONLY 5 months a year and probably will cancel the paper. In Atlanta two years ago, on Saturday and Sunday they devote a 10 page section on college FB. CT POST should go down like ESPN sports center, they both suck

The Post got rid of their sports writers that covered UConn. Said there were already enough papers blogs and other sources that it wasn't worth it for them to employ and cover UConn.

They cut costs and now use AP sources for their coverage

Newspaper publishers care about subscriptions, advertisements and web page clicks (and time spent on each click). Until they see those numbers go negative content will stay the same.

It will be interesting to see if the basketball teams are also ignored. I think not.

They got rid of the women's team beat writer mid-season in January this year, so yeah, this paper could really care less about UConn sports.

I looked all over the courant sports section looking for the score of UCONN's next opponent (USF) who beat the Cuse 45-24. Could not find any thing but the top 25 ranked college games. Boy have they cut back on what is in there paper. I only get the Sunday print paper and a one year digital edition. Save a Fucxen tree I guess. Maybe not next year.
