one thing about Tiff, and it was a fair criticism in the past, especially since Geno called her out on it, was that she'd start games by jacking up 3's, and if they didn't fall, she'd mentally take herself out of the game a bit which hurt the team. not only has she corrected that, but she's shooting a healthy 42% (tops on the team followed by Bria who is also over 40%) from beyond the arc, and additionally, finding several other ways to score, never mind make an impact.
i don't have her stats handy from last y ear, but she's averaging about 10 shots per game, and only 3 of those attempts are from beyond the arc (on average). i'm betting last year her 3 point attempts were a bit higher. she's one of the best all around guards in the country and just because she's not scoring 20 PPG doesn't take away from all she does. almost 16 PPG, 2.2 steals/game, 3.4 APG, 5.6 RPG, averages 78% from the FT line and over 50% FG%. and all that in 28 minutes per game. bump up her MPG by only 5 to 33 and she'd then be averaging over 20 PPG.
my point in those stats are that there were some threads in the past where people were talking about her production stating that players like Stricklen were having better seasons and more deserving of AA honors. i totally disagree with that. Strick's stats are lesser across the board (except for rebounds) but she plays 33 minutes per game to Tiff's 28. do the math... "oh, but Tiff didn't have great stats in big games"... uh-huh. Strick had 5 points on 2-10 shooting in the ND debacle.
i'm not saying Tiff is a 1st team AA, but for all she does on the #3 team in the nation, she certainly deserves some accolades...
