The final box score is more or less blank, but, a few minutes ago, it showed the middle Samuelson sister as the leading scorer with 21 (including 3 treys). Way to go, Karlie!

I got back from the game after seeing middle Samuelson, Karlie, put up 21 points. i told her Lou put up 28 points for me at SMU, and she owed me 7 points. she laughed.
Not sure if it was covered on tv, but Karlie and McCall had a gaterade bucket filled and poured it over Tara after the game. Only it was filled with confetti, not the drink.
7am flight back to the OC tomorrow to then go to a 1pm HS game.
This is fun.

There was a good analysis of this in another thread. Though Geno is behind Tara now, if UConn goes deeper into the conference and NCAA tourneys by enough games, Geno could pass Pat before Tara does or at almost the same time.

Congratulations to Tara VanDerveer on a great achievement, and to the Stanford athletes who won all of those games for her. Coach VanDerveer is a great coach, and Stanford is a fine and worthy opponent.

What a tremendous accomplishment. Kudos to Tara and all fans of her and Stanford must be very proud. She's still going strong too. I can see her coaching for at least 5 more years and maybe 10...

I was really disappointed that the game was not broadcast here in SC...although ESPN2 did give us a live look-in for the after-game celebration and speeches.

Congrats to Tara on her 1000th win. That's a lot of games! Class act all the way!

I just want to share everyone's appreciation for this coaching milestone for Tara and her Trees (really, I don't get the whole tree thing) because she's one of the classiest coaches in the game.

Didn't C Viv Stringer need like 3 or 4 games to reach her 900th win? Someone I cannot recall who had a hard time passing one of those milestones....

I think CViv did require about 4 tries at number 900.
