Two guys that gave their heart and soul to the UConn football program and made up proud even during some very down years. Both drafted in the NFL. They are the classic UConn recruits from areas that are not recruiting hotbeds (Smallwood from Worchester and Stephen from LI). The only other offer between the two was Stephen's offer from UMass.

Smallwood could have gone much higher but was hit by injuries at the wrong time. He should have a huge chip on his shoulder going into camp. They should be very proud of how they represented UConn.

Not to be picky but it is Worcester.

I know that Smallwood was being looked at by BC. UConn offered and BC asked for some academic information. He committed to UConn shortly there after. Had he played in a bigger high school system he might have had more offers. He was by far the best athlete on his team. Because of that he was the QB and played safety on defense. He also played hoops and played very well. Was far more of an athlete that a hoops player. Very tough on the boards.
