Fifth place: from one classy young woman to another...

I'm sure Maddy will have her hands full playing the Huskies at the XL Center in a few weeks, but I'm excited that I'll be there to see it. I recall last season Geno used Aaliyah quite effectively on defense on Maddy in the rematch.

Well deserved. And to imagine that today I was looking at a projected WNBA draft board (3 rounds no less) and she was NOT listed! Someone make it make sense.
This is a Big East record not a college career record. I imagine she has played significantly more minutes in her BE career than Maya played. She is still about 800 points behind Maya for her career.

I think she should be drafted, but she may struggle in the W as one of those sort of tweener players.

Who are the Top Four? Since Maya leads UConn, they have to be other teams.

I think this is Coach Giorgis’s last season. My wife is from Poughkeepsie and it was fun watching them win two games in person during the their sweet 16 run.

I stand corrected. She is on the list I was looking at. She's projected at #6 in the first round.

In Nov ESPN didn't have her listed in the first round. IMO, she's better than some of these ESPN projections.

Poughkeepsie has had its share of professional sports stars.

Debi Thomas - former figure skater, 1986 World Champion, 1988 Olympic Bronze Medal winner

Monty Stickles - former NFL tight end for the San Fransisco 49er's and New Orleans Saints

Wes Bialosuknia - basketball, UConn star and played in the old ABA.

Love her, but I think Villanova will struggle against better competition. God forbid, but if any sort of injury happened to her, I don't think Villanova could beat Xavier to be honest.

Ok, so if Maddie is now 5th, who are 1-4 in Big East Scoring?

I wonder, too, HuskyNan. I do believe lots of folks have a hard time reading stuff like the BE's website on their phones. I understand that.

Anyway, simplified for fellow BYers, and updated through Sunday's games:

1) Sarah Behn '93 of BC 1,546 points for a 23.1 average
2) Angel McCoughtry '09 of Louisville 1,322 points for a 20.7 average
3) Holly Porter '87 of Boston College 1,311 points for an 18.5 average
4) Tracy Lis '93 of Providence 1,296 points for a 19.6 average
5) Maddy Siegrist '23 of Villanova 1,279 points for a 23.3 average
6) Maya Moore '11 of UConn 1,270 points for a 19.8 average

Rebecca Lobo '95 is 8th with 1,232 for a 17.9 average, Nykesha Sales '98 is T11th with 1,175 and Kerry Bascom '89 is 16th with 1,128.

Conspicuous by their absence are all the Huskies greats who played all or many of their games during the AAC years.

It seems Maddy will easily move into second place in her next couple of Big East games. Catching Behn seems likely, too, with 14 more Big East games to come, unless Maddy gets hurt or opponents suddenly figure out how to dramatically slow her production. Could be the Huskies' Feb. 18 date at Villanova might about when Siegrist ascends to the top spot?

A question: anyone here remember Behn? I admit I don't, and likely never saw her play.

Sarah Behn was good. But as you mentioned a few UConn players, like most notably Brianna Stewart, Lou #1, etc would’ve eaten up the BE as much as the AAC and would be up the list. Still a nice list.
