This is sort of true and sort of false. Sarah is a post player in much the same way Paige is a PG. She rebounds and blocks shots like a demon and is a brilliant scorer on the low post and is especially good at receiving passes into the post. But she doesn’t look like a post player because she’s not 6’5”. More importantly, she does so much else a post player doesn’t typically do.

As for Ayanna, she looks very much like a typical post player to me. She rebounds and defends well and knows how to muscle taller players off the block. She may not be the scoring talent Sarah is and doesn’t have a midrange or perimeter shot like Sarah. Also, she’s not 6’5”. But that’s not really necessary. She plays big. If we can get that Ayanna back, the one who is strong and quick in the low post, she’d be a real asset.

Consider our main rival, SC. They don’t start a post player larger than 6’3”. And yet no one thinks they don’t have a post presence.
Let's agree to disagree.

I know what she's capable of........now she just has to go out and do it.......
The only thing standing in Allie’s way is defensive proficiency. That’s how she’ll get into games earlier, where she can show the world what she can do on offense. I suspect she’s been working on this full bore even now and will continue to do so over the summer.

speaking of Serah Williams..................as long as Allie is making shots, she's going to play big minutes next season unless her defense is atrocious.......

Except Paige, Sarah, Ash, and Kaitlyn.
The reference was to skill sets on next years team, and to specifically address leadership roles. Sarah does indeed possess that skill set but has a personality that to date defers to others on leadership. Ash has not shown any proficiency in the ability to drive to the basket.

Hey, Serah…

“I believe in this team so much," Fudd said after UConn won the Big East Tournament.

Any coach would like another piece, and if you handed Auriemma a magic wand, he'd probably conjure a veteran post player.

I think you should bite your tongue. It appears you are just trying to be contradictory. Sarah is a freshman, while she has the skills but remember she has Paige, Azzi and others who are already the player you want Sarah to be. Next year there will be at least 3 players no longer at UConn, plenty of time for Sara to become that leader you claim she now defers too. Open your eyes, Ash can and does drive to the basket when it is her best shot.
We see what we want, ERWUC65, what is it you want to see?

sarah playing beside serah, huh? strong & williams llc sounds good.
Something else besides a resume that is filled with statistics out the wazoo but she must be itching to play in front of big crowds with the best teams in the country. That is definitely not happening with Wisconsin. The Badgers women’s basketball ranks a distant 3rd behind UW-Green Bay & Marquette. The biggest crowds the last couple of years were because of who they were playing (example- last year it was Caitlin Clark). She’s had a heck of a career in Madison. Crossing my fingers that she is able to jump on the UCONN train!!

Ball handling won't be the issue next season with KK and Kelis but consistent three-point shooting from the guard position will be if Azzi doesn't return.......I expect a big jump from Allie who along with Sarah and Ashlynn will provide the bulk of the outside firepower but perhaps another sharpshooter from the transfer portal should be considered......
Don’t forget if Caroline is healthy she can hit the three with one of them. Just hopefully she’s healthy.

A nice video montage of our transfer Biggs, and where they ultimately went with better name recognition and skills acquired at Connecticut. Even Butler went on to lead the country in rebounding the year she transferred out of Connecticut. There are recent examples of great success for transfers.
