If Duke wins against Virginia does the ACC title champ get an automatic
bid to the 12 team playoff? Or are there some realistic possibilities that given
the very mediocre ACC football strength the champ won't get in?

Assuming Duke doesn’t jump into the CFP top 25 then the AAC and then Sun Belt or MWC (thinking James Madison) would get the final auto bid.

If James Madison loses then it's a dog fight between the Mountain West champ and Duke to get the final guaranteed spot... a tournament featuring both James Madison and North Texas is exactly what they anticipated, especially if somehow things break in such a way to leave Alabama or Notre Dame out.

I'm rooting for chaos...

Chaos in the form of “undeserving” teams getting in won’t be good for us. It will make the power schools want to close the doors more. “Good” chaos would require a No. Texas State or JMU to actually win a game.

Let's go Duke!!! Like I said previously, UConn beating Duke could lead to a zero bid ACC. muahahahahahahaa!!!!!!

Was listening to College Sports Radio on Sirius this morning at the gym and the host was "suggesting" that if he's the ACC commissioner, he's looking for every legal loophole to put Miami in the title game instead of Duke. "The Big10 played games a few years ago, we could get a little cute in the ACC". I'll be honest, I was sitting at the gym in disbelief hearing that and had reruns of Whose Line Is It Anyway in my head with "Where the scores are made up and the points don't matter."

If the ACC had the gall to do that, the Big East should go on an immediate acquisition campaign for all the basketball schools in the ACC and bring football with them back to the Big East and let them know, your conference is not going to allow your teams to succeed in the ACC.

So 8-4 Boise State vs. 10-2 UNLV; while 9-3 New Mexico & San Diego State sit home.

Among the tied teams:
New Mexico 2-1 (W - at UNLV, San Diego St; L - at Boise St)
Boise State 2-1 (W - UNLV, New Mexico; L - at San Diego St)
San Diego State 1-1 (W - Boise; L - at New Mexico (2OT))
UNLV 0-2 (L - at Boise St, New Mexico)

In my mind UNLV should've been eliminated - then you'd have everyone 1-1 and can use the computers from there. UNLV's best win is either 3-9 UCLA, 8-4 Fresno State or 8-4 Hawaii. Fresno St & Hawaii being the only teams with winning records they beat.

New Mexico's are either San Diego State or UCLA (they didn't get to play Fresno State or Hawaii), while San Diego State has Cal & Boise St. as it's top; Boise State has New Mexico & UNLV as it's top two.

UNLV must be getting a lot of points for beating bad teams by a lot, but just looking at the results, San Diego State's season seems more impressive.

You’re a lawyer. I just find it hilarious that the power conferences wrote “top 5 ranked conference champions, wink!” And didn’t consider one of their own wouldn’t be among the top 5.
