I love watching Washington go for it on 4th down all the time. Will this strategy extend to other teams and colleges soon? It is entertaining and it seems to pay off for them. I’ve read before that statistically, most teams, especially those with a mobile QB, should be going for it on 4th down a lot more.

Pretty soon they won’t even have a choice it’s blowout city coming up, I’m a Giants fan too I hate saying it, I have no hatred toward Washington, yet.

Fourth and 3 ishould be default go for it in college.

I think if you think you have four downs to get 10 yournolay calling is more patient. I think that is better.

I don’t think anyone is blowing out the Commanders too often. This team has a lot of fight in it. Turnovers will be the death of them today.

No kidding. The first fumble was forgivable. The second one was just stupid. HTTR

.-.
The Eagles want it more, hearing corny messages from Dan Quinn in the pre game saying “don’t look at yourself as a cinderella“ ya I sensed blowout when I heard it. If you have to say that as an nfl team stick a fork in them it’s over.

Lucy is an animal out there for Washington. They’ll have some good teams in the next few years. Maybe a little crazy, but an animal.

Ehh screw Washington way to show up, glad Eagles backup got a td on them with their backup rb. Cool you had a good season but got your asses kicked today.

Well, you called that.

I can safely say I will not be watching the superbowl this year. It's like seeing Albama and Clemson like 3 years in a row.

Saying, "The Eagles want it more," is just as, if not more, corny. This was the conference championship with a chance to go to the Super Bowl. Saying, don't look at yourself as a cinderella," is to say that they shouldn't just be happy to be there. Turnovers notwithstanding, the Eagles were/are the better team. I didn't think they were 32 points better, but that was the outcome.

Washington held their defense - particularly against the run - together with spit and Scotch tape all season and were down their anchor on the D-Line (Daron Payne) vs. one of the best O-lines in the NFL. I'm not saying that Payne would have stopped Barkley, but him being out sure didn't help, I'm pretty sure their difficulty vs. the run was one of the key factors leading directly to how often Washington went for 4th down conversions. They just had to find ways to keep their opponents' offense on the sideline. They were also missing a road-grading guard in Sam Cosmi.

Going into the offseason, Washington still needs a lot of pieces, and one downside of going that far in the playoff is the comparable quality of player available in at least the first two rounds of the draft. OTOH, they have the most cap space of any playoff team by about $25 million and no regular player currently signed for 2025 is older than 31, who may actually be a salary cap cut. That said, I'd like to see Bobby Wagner and Zach Ertz (Both in their mid 30s) back in the Burgundy & Gold, and wouldn't mind if Austin Eckler was cut loose.

They have needs along both lines, WR, and LB. Unfortunately, the trade for Lattimore has left four of their seven picks in the back end of the draft, including three in the 7th round alone. Then again, $91 million, give or take, will attract some quality fee agents.

If you have to give that message to an nfl team "don't just be happy to be here" you have already lost, that's also a corny message. Messages are a bit overrated as is. Washington has a bright future but the feel good story is over, now what do you do from here, you got your asses kicked by a division rival, don't wanna hear oh well we had a good season. In my opinion the Eagles as a team wanted it more, they have a ton of vets who have been there before of course they were hungrier.

People always say this and they still watch so more then likely you will watch. Are you just gonna turn down any Super Bowl party invite and be a recluse.

I can't find the quote you reference. Do you have a link, because I have a hard time believing any player or coach wearing Burgundy & Gold even alluded to it. I listened to a week and a half worth of podcasts and regional radio shows leading up to and following the Detroit win, and leading up to Philly. According to Craig Hoffman, the message in the locker room was, "The road [to the Super Bowl] goes through us."

The Eagles didn't want it more. The Eagles were the more complete team and they were the better team on Sunday. They made less mistakes, but Washington won 12 games in the regular season. Then beat the team that blew them out 18 weeks earlier and the #1 Seed, both on the road. There is no way they believed they didn't belong. Washington scored 22 points in the 4th quarter of their last meeting against the same defense, so they were driving and still in the game until the Eckler fumble. 9 points at the time was not, by any means, insurmountable.

Dan Quinn, Jayden Daniels, Zach Ertz, Bobby Wagner, Frankie Luvu, et al all said something akin to, "It sucks, it just sucks (Daniels asked for a pardon for using the word, "sucks."), it hurts. We will not have the same locker room next year, but those who are here need to learn from it, take it into next season, and move on."

Be all that as it may, After 25 years of suck for the Washington franchise (whatever their moniker), 14-6 and a NFCCG appearance, is a whole lot better than bouncing between 3-13 and 10-6 division winner (but mostly on the 3-13 end), with little hope of advancing. I can see why you, as a Giants fan, would want the feel good story in DC to be over, but I don't think it is. Considering the results this year, the draft, their QB, coaches, front office, and cap room, this appears to be the opening chapters.

I don't hate Washington at all but I kind of hate them now because they got destroyed against the Eagles lol. When I said feel good story I mean coming out of nowhere to make the championship game that's a feel good story, now the expectations will be higher so the whole underdog feel good story is over now, just making the playoffs won't be good enough anymore, your held to a higher standard now. So ya go 11-5 or better next year it's not a feel good story. For instance 1990 the dream season for UConn that's a feel good story then came expectations after that.

I kind of forget what was said exactly in the pre game, whatever your being asked questions from the sideline reporter, pregame messages are a bit overrated as is. I would expect Jayden Daniels to feel the way he does as most players do.

I hate the Eagles so I take shots at teams that lose to them I have always been like that lol. I'm not expecting the Giants to ever be good again let alone get back to the Super Bowl, I have already accepted that reality. My happiness as a Giants fan is seeing the Eagles lose. Well thank god for UConn sports.

I moved to North Dakota. I don't know anyone here. So yeah I'm gonna be a recluse

It really started with Dan Campbell and Detroit. It's a little like all the three point shooting in basketball, the advanced metrics suggest it's the right move a lot more often than people would think. There's evidently a location/distance matrix some teams use.

For Washington, that matrix is 4th & Daniels. ;)
