Yeah, their decision to recruit McEntee was so dumb. Damn them.

What is bad...is the penalties...turnovers...bad tackling....dropped kickoff.

Team doesn't look ready. Looks like a different team from last week.

anyone who blames this on the coaches is insane.

if they put nebrich out there and he isnt ready, they could ruin the kid for the long term.

clearly, the previous coach did a lousy job of recruiting QB's, and a number of other offensive positions.

We are great one week, and beyond bad the next. We've been consistent on that lately.

McEntee couldn't start for most CAA teams. These "bad" weeks are tough to watch.

This is really the beginning and end of any argument on the subject.

You can debate all you want about how well PP has done with the pieces he's been handed, but the fact is RE left the cupboard completely bare (as he tended to keep it during his reign) in terms of offensive skill players.

I don't disagree that they should be playing Nebrich. I would have switched to him long ago.

But playing Nebrich wouldn't win this game. At best, it'd just look less ugly.

We are at our best in the 4-3....we put them I will third and long in the 4-3....so our genius D-Coordinator switches to the 3-4 where we give up 90% of our big plays.......Brilliant

Edsall left two young QBs to run the spread....is it his fault the new regime wants to run a pocket system? And what leads anyone to believe Nebrich or Scott couldn't out-play J-Mac if they ran the same system?

Edsall did not leave this staff with any QB ready to be an average, Big East QB. Absolutely true.

Of course, Edsall didn't have average Big EAst QB play the last three years, against tougher schedules, and we had three straight winning seasons with below average QB play.

There is plenty of blame to go around.

The last 7 seasons is more like it. Terrible offense.

Maybe there really is something to that whole walk on thing. Wonder how many other walk ons got to have the majority of snaps at a BCS school for the season?

Posts like this is why you need to take a break. Haven't you whined about excessive HCRE posts? Yet here you are. And are you really saying that Frazier and JMac are equivilent?

Cody Endres decided to smoke dope, when he was gone, there was no one left but Johnny Mac.

Look at the numbers and explain to this board why they aren't.

Yes BL, there is plenty of blame to go around.

As far as how bare the cupboard RE left was, I said yesterday that last spring I would have believed that even Ray Handley could get this team to a bowl. This team was hurt (in terms of wins/losses) in some part because the staff was determined to prioritize what they wanted to run above what the personnel was best suited for. This may pay off down the road by expediting the learning curve to a more aggressive approach (this may however have a cost in terms of recruiting) but at the moment this is of little consolation.

People can blast RE all they want here but when discussing how thin we were at QB they need to keep in mind that the recruits who would have been (redshirt) the senior (Endres), junior (Turner) and Soph (Box) scholarship QB's were all elsewhere at kickoff against Fordham. I highly doubt that RE forced Endres to make the choices he made and I don't see how RE can be blamed for Box transferring out late in last summer's practice.

There were games where we did not appear ready at kickoff (Louisville, Cincy), where we did not appear to be prepared for the opponent (WMU) and were at critical points we made very questionable decisions on offense (Vandy) and defense (WMU). This all goes to the coaching staff but even with this I believe that there is a far higher ceiling on what this regime can accomplish than what our prior regime could.

But Edsall had Donald Brown, Andre Dixon and Jordan Todman. We did not have anything close to them this year.
