I just visited Jerry Palm's site. Alas, he is not doing the womens site.

Too bad. What a loss for womens basketball fans.

I agree, I visited that site a lot.

Anyone have an alternative we can look at?

Didn't we just have a thread about this? Another board maybe? Anyway, my favorite site has always been Jeff Sagarin. Apparently, that's also down. I tried to access it today and got a "not found".

No doubt a goldmine of bball wisdom, but I don't get it. I read the bit about how to use the Ratings to predict game outcomes, but... How can this be?? Sagarin ranks UConn at 59 with a Rating of 80.86, and a Schedule Rank of 334. Either these numbers don't mean what they seem to, or somebody has been smoking at work.

What about RealTime RPI?

I can't get in to it. I'm registered, but don't recall my password, and the routine to send it to me failed.

At this point, no computer rankings are worth very much. Look back in a month when enough games have been played to be meaningful.

Having said that, a schedule ranking of 334 seems about right considering the two teams they have played thus far.

Stam is correct. All basketball ratings services are pretty much questionable at this time of year and almost so until January.
