Also I think they're setting up on Independence Hall if I'm not mistaken

Didn't think they'd ever take the show to an American home game (or feature a game with an American team really), luckily Temple had this late non conference game on the schedule. Good for them and the AAC hopefully they can come out with the big W this weekend. Watching ND lose is always fun.

Me either, and now there's actually a chance for 2 American Gameday episodes this year with Memphis/Houston undefeated battle looming.

Hell Memphis and temple could still meet each other undefeated with both at 10-0 in Philly!

Looks like ND is about a -9.5 or -10 point favorite. Temple's defense is going to need to create turnovers to win.

Having previously lived in Phila for years I can say with assurance that it was never even the slightest gleam in the hopeful eye of anyone there that Game Day would ever set up in Center City for a Temple football game.

Temple reminds the UConn of old. They have some real smash mouth, lunch pail guys mixed with some speed players that should be able to match up well. Will be like the Penn State game except Irish have better playmakers on O.

Good for them, good for the American. Cheering hard for Temple this week. They win they have a real chance to crash the party.
Like your comment and thinking DREW... it is great for the American. However, IMO, I don't think they can crash the "Party of Four". Way too political. Do think it is great for an AAC team to get an invite to be the G5 major bowl crash. If anything, a great day by trashing ND (ND would then have 2 losses) might.... say might, raise suspect or warrant discussion (say discussion only ) of playoff expansion to 8 teams in 2 0r 3 years and maybe, say maybe further warrant a better TV deal for the AAC. It just might be toooooooooo much for the p5 to become the P6 but ESPN gameday and recognition of the league achievement this year is certainly a start because you need their holy blessing. It's all about the business of sports and $$$.

The Notre Dame offense is for real. If they don't turn it over, they will light the scoreboard like a pinball machine.

Careful Pal. That kind of talk will have you accused of going "all Nostical".

Temple campus is in North Philly not Center City. No one goes there unarmed.

The fact that it took them nearly two days to decide on Philly is quite telling. Here's how it'll play out:

* They'll mostly talk about Notre Dame.
* They will promote the Hades out of their SEC Network.
* They'll do lots of laughing about Temple's historical suckiness and 'weak conference schedule'.
* Matt Rhule (along with Fuente and Herman) will be vigorously shopped around to all potential 'P5' job openings.
* At some point, all the undefeated AAC teams will be judged and ranked by 'worthiness' of being selected to join a 'P5' league in realignment.
* (A prediction, this may or may not happen): Footage of Temple and/or Memphis from last year vs. UConn will be prominently featured.

I don't expect this in any way to be the positive AAC showcase folks are clamoring for. ESPN will find a way to crap all over this, I'm convinced of it...

... or they were waiting for federal approval to use the Independence Mall site since it is under the control of the National Park Service and the Temple campus is undergoing a massive amount of construction in the outdoor areas that would be most suitable for the Game-Day set. ;)

But I do agree that Rhule/Fuente/Herman angle.

I almost want to go to Temple and don the colors. ND can't lose by enough.

Sorry, I thought Game Day was setting up in Center City at Independence Mall.

WOW how could you possibly leave out Bill Cosby? Energy vampires should have the teeth to go all in!

This is great for Temple, this is great for the American, and great for Philadelphia. I hope its a great day out there and will probably watch this game. Big one. Wouldn't it be great if the American defeats all the odds and snatches a CFP spot. That would be amazing for the league.

Game day will NOT be on campus, it will be in center city. It'll be an odd gameday experience (off campus), but it will be at Indep Hall. The odds of Herbie and crew being on campus at Temple are about the same as us going bowling this year.

Good move. It looks like someone at ESPN has driven through North Philadelphia at some point.

Hope the fans show up for Gameday. This should be a close game but as has been mentioned, without a win the league won't come out looking too good. ND is tough to stop as Navy found out.

Notre Dame is very good but they've only played two road games all season, one of which was a nail-biter against a terrible Virginia team.

.-.
I wonder how much of a road game this will be. I expect a large number of ND fans, not going to be like the Clemson game.
