Colben Landrew Twitter(X) Highlights Senior Season Stats

Next step for him offensively is going to be half court drives and getting his assist #s up. His shooting and scoring bag is pretty elite. Crazy physicality and body control in the air. Always on balance with a variety of ways to score at all 3 levels.

2.5 assists is generous though. I've been watching his games and seen him only get 1 or 2 potential assists in a game this season. Part of that is on his teammates, to be fair. Not a great system for getting assist #s.

Landrew gets a wide variety of buckets, posses a strong frame at 6’6, wing athleticism, and guard skills.
He’s been an efficient scorer:
20.4 PPG 65.4% TS%

There’s a vicious dunk in the highlights.

He knows that he is best player on the court. Definitely Caron Butler comp.

This is his first year of dedicated development to the game of basketball. Great get by our staff.

Actually second year. He transferred from Thompson HS in Alabaster, AL, which is a football powerhouse, to Wheeler HS in Marietta, GA. which is a basketball powerhouse, for his junior year to concentrate on basketball.

He's a freakin' bucket-I'm seeing a Caron/Castle hybrid. His hesi move at the three point line to open up the drive is elite, body control and court awareness in the lane as well. He may end up being a man among boys even at the college level.

Thought he still played his junior year. Just transferred to a bb program.

Not 100% sure but the articles after he committed to UConn said he stopped playing football when he transferred to Wheeler for his junior year.

Playing for a nationally ranked program at Thompson, he was a natural, big-bodied receiver. By the end of his first and only football season, he caught 24 passes for 492 yards and 10 touchdowns, was named first team all-county by the Shelby County Reporter and collected offers from SEC powers like Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss.

I was curious so I looked up Wheeler’s 2024 football roster and he’s not on there.

It's a little silly for anyone to say he wasn't "concentrating" on basketball at any point. He has basketball mixtapes from like 3rd-grade out there. He just also played football. Plenty of kids do both. Kid from Tolland just committed to Alabama football and also is a high-major lacrosse player.

What I really Like is how controlled he is, creates space without having to speed up. That little top oh the key back down game reminded me of cam. Excited about him
I thought the same thing. Being quick is great, but having that kind of body control is what really keeps defenders off balance.

When he said "concentrating" I think he just meant that was the only sport he was playing. I didn't take it the way you did.

How is his defense?

It's kinda hard to tell when they're in high school. They play a bunch of zone and he's not checking high major talent. He's got the length, strength and court awareness to be solid though.

Put him in McDs.

He acts like a predator on offense, probably does the same on defense.
